We Rest Here Content approaches the subject of the I.L.H. from a different viewpoint. It looks at all the known monuments and memorials as well as other accounts of I.L.H. involvement in the war.--

This book provides a contemporary overview of Boko Haram's activities. Since Boko Haram emerged in 2002, media-driven narratives as well as social scientific methodologies have been increasingly applied to draw generalisable conclusions on what goals the groups have pursued, what strategies it has used for these purposes and the counter campaign strategies authorities have pursued. But from 2009 to 2018, Boko Haram has pursued high-intensity violence: assassinations, bombing, kidnappings, beheading or threats of violence, conscriptions and territorial occupation. Freed-melanated people returning from the United States, Canada, England, and the Caribbean islands developed the tongue. This book also includes the English translations of the Krio lyrics from the accompanying hip-hop album "Dark Horse from Romarong ...a City of Kings" by hip-hop recording artist Freddy Will. He recorded the music in the Krio language of Sierra Leone.

Derk Mattocks was raised during a time when the fight for social justice was at its peak in the United States. Instead of shying away, he learned to challenge the circumstances and not let them dictate how he would live his life. Of course, Derk would say while he does not consider himself a fighter, there was something innate that led him to the top of a career field that was inaccessible to people of color during that Jim Crow period, a period meant to marginalize African Americans by denying them the right to vote, hold jobs, get an education or other opportunities. This was by no means an easy task, considering the opposition he faced trying to bring some normalcy in such a chaotic and dangerous environment in which he lived.Reflecting on his childhood, Derk acknowledges that he would not be one-tenth of the man he is now if it were not for his schoolteachers and community role models. They were genuine, in their teaching, nurturing, caring, and preparing him for any path he chose to take. They taught him how and where to look, but left it up to him to assess and act on his findings. They taught him diligence. Derk firmly believes that for anyone to reach his or her greatest potential, he/she must first be opened to mentoring and insights that show them how to tackle and manage challenging situations. He attributes his ability to convert challenges into opportunities to his schooling and mentoring at Belgrade Elementary, Silverdale Elementary, and Georgetown High. His sincerest wish is to live his life with dignity and respect while gaining more wisdom in the process.

¿This book explores the role of caravan transport and human porterage in the colony of German East Africa (present-day mainland Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi). With caravan mobility being of pivotal importance to colonial rule during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the exploration of vernacular transport and its governance during this period sheds new light on the trajectories of colonial statehood. The author addresses key questions such as the African resilience to colonial interventions, the issue of labor recruitment, and the volatility of colonial infrastructure. This book unveils a fundamental contradiction in the way that German administrators dealt with precolonial modes of transport in East Africa. While colonizers championed for the abolishment of caravan transport, they strongly depended on porters in the absence of pack animals or railways.
