These documents contain alphabetically-arranged census and marriage records for Meigs County, Tennessee, spanning the years 1850-1900. The following census records were transcribed for this publication: 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900. All of the household heads are listed in the appendix.

These documents provide land certificates issued to early Texas citizens residing in the following counties: Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Milam, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Red River, Refugio, Robertson, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Victoria, and Washington. "The grants included in this book are those that were approved by the traveling Board of Land Commissioners. The persons listed were granted land certificates in their county of original residence. Some had paused only long enough to obtain a land grant." A surname index adds to the value of this work.

From 'The Ridouts of Sherborne', this second book follows my 3x great grandfather John RIDOUT as he moved from the rural Dorset town to the bustling Roman city of Bath in 1807; here he married, had children and started a cabinet-making business. Sadly, over time, John lost two wives and several of their children, but others survived and the family grew. The Ridouts are traced through to WW2 and beyond; latterly, the cold genealogical facts are gradually warmed with photographs, anecdotes and personal memories.Of the related families, some are traced & described: The SOMERTONs were a well known dynasty from Bristol, three generations of which had printed, published and written for newspapers of the day, most notably the Bristol Mercury. In 16th century Widcombe, just south of the city, lived farmers Tobias and Thomas ORCHARD; their children eventually moved into the centre: Joseph was a popular peruke maker in the Abbey Green, made famous by poet Christopher Anstey. Jacob, the Quaker, made biscuits; his sons Abraham & Isaac were friends of John Wesley and helped to bring Methodism to Bath. ARCHARD's pawnbroker's shop was prominent in 15 Bath Street; Thomas and his son were also local politicians. One branch of the Orchards married into the famous Irish Guinness family. Other prominent names include BEATON and OLLIS, two well known Bath families who lived, worked and died in Walcot, an historically fascinating thoroughfare in Bath. It was Walcot Street in which Elsie Beaton and Reginald Ridout, lived with their respective families, but met, married and eventually became my grandparents.

Part 3 of Meredith Cain Inglesby's ancestry includes the furthest back bloodlines through England, Wales, Europe. and Tunisia. It also includes stories about some of Meredith's ancestors and the index to all 3 books. Enjoy the journey as you travel into the distant past and end in Tunisia in about 1850 BC. Part 2 of Meredith Cain Inglesby Ancestry includes the remainder of the 70 generations; It extends through the royal houses of Britain and Europe and includes the Carolingian, Merovingian, and Roman Imperial bloodlines. It extends all the way to Deatha Mac Ertha, born about 1850 BC from Tunis, in Tunisia. Dunure Castle in Dunure, Scotland is shown on the front cover, and is the home of the Kennedy Clan. This is a transcription of the 1933 Coldspring Census and genealogies on the Allegany Territory of the Seneca Nation in western New York.

This book contains a listing of marriage bonds before 1851; after 1851 marriage certificates were issued. Entries herein contain the full name of the groom, the full name of the bride, and the date. Grooms are listed in alphabetical order with a cross index for brides. "Dates may be date of application or date of filing, most are in a matter of days, but some are off as many as six or seven years." Information was gleaned from the North Carolina State Archives.

Edenton is a town located in Chowan County, NC. which is in the northeastern portion of the state. It served as the second capitol of the state or Provience of NC, as it was the first European settlement within the state. Settlers began arriving in the mid to late 1600's as adventurers leaving the Jamestown area started searching the wilderness for new lands and a natural bay on the northern shore of the Albemarle Sound was geographical and natural fit to solve this dilemma. Newspaper abstracts are a wonderful source of genealogical information. The author has included all pertinent genealogical information found within this newspaper such as: advertisements of articles for sale, sheriff's sales, grandy jury lists, legal notices, help wanted notices, estate notices, wanted notices, marriage and death notices, letters remaining in the local post office. These notices cover events, etc. happening in and around Chowan County along with surrounding counties. This is a veritable goldmine of heretofore unavailable information is now at hand that may not be available in any other form. Also, there are many scattered references to Virginians throughout these abstracts due to the proximity the area.

These records provide a collection of wills from Claiborne County, Tennessee, spanning the years 1837 to 1846. A full inventory of the estate, amount of sales, and recipients of assets are included in this publication, along with an index arranged alphabetically by surname.

This work provides a complete collection of records for private land claims in Missouri during 1834, with an index sorted alphabetically by surname. Volume III of a three-part series provides information on over 90 cemeteries located in Tennessee, near areas that may have been impacted by flooding, wave action, and construction, necessitating grave removal. Transcriptions for each grave are accompanied by a brief description of the cemetery and its location. A wealth of maps and a surname index add to the value of this work.

A collection of family records for 39 families in the state of Oregon can be found in these documents, detailing surnames in the family, kinship, and lines of descent. In some cases, extra biographical data is included, such as the head of household's occupation or place of residency. This work includes complete transcriptions of family data from about 70 Bibles found in various museums in the Willamette Valley. It appears that many of the families came from the Midwest or northeast. An index alphabetized by surname or place name at the head of each bible record is used to conclude this work.

Genealogies document relationships between persons involved in historical events. Information about the events is parsed from communications from the past. This book explores a way to organize information from multiple communications into a trustworthy representation of a genealogical history of the modern world. The approach defines metrics for evaluating the consistency, correctness, closure, connectivity, completeness, and coherence of a genealogy. The metrics are evaluated using a 312,000-person research genealogy that explores the common ancestors of the royal families of Europe. A major result is that completeness is defined by a genealogy symmetry property driven by two exponential processes, the doubling of the number of potential ancestors each generation, and the rapid growth of lineage coalescence when the number of potential ancestors exceeds the available population. A genealogy expands from an initial root person to a large number of lineages, which then coalesce into a small number of progenitors. Using the research genealogy, candidate progenitors for persons of Western European descent are identified. A unifying ancestry is defined to which historically notable persons can be linked.

James Hoge Tyler kept a diary when he was 33 and continued until 1924, just months before his death. These diaries are a valuable source of information about his family, friends, neighbors, and daily life in Virginia around a century ago.

This book contains a list of approximately 4,000 marriages, arranged chronologically from July 23, 1777 to June 1, 1840. The entries give the date of the marriage, the full name of the groom, full maiden name of the bride, and the names of officiating ministers. Due to the county's location in northeastern corner of the state, it can also be a good source for locating persons from Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania due to the common intermarriages of persons from this area.
