In 15th century Bengal there was tremendous social and religious ferment, and Haridasa Thakura's appearance during this period, as well as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's 35 years later, had a tremendous impact upon the clashing religious forces. Many Muslims were infuriated that Haridäsawould commit apostasy by converting to Hinduism. Likewise, the conservative Hindus were equally outraged that a Muslim dared to cross the lines of hereditary caste and social custom to practice "their" religion. The operable principle behind the activities of Srila Haridasa Thakura was jaiva-dharma (the essential function of the soul). This revolutionary and non-sectarian philosophy spoke of unifying principles, true of all religions: to render service to God in the mode of a servant and thus to develop love of God. The means to achieve that love: chanting the divine name of God. Whether one chanted Allah, Krishna, Rama, Jehovah, or any other authorized name enunciated in the great religious traditions, it didn't matter. One, thus situated, was beyond all bodily designations: he or she was not Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Buddhist; not Indian, Turk, European, American or any other nationality; not black, brown, yellow or white; not male or female; not identified with any caste, creed, political party or family. Rather, identity is firmly established as the living being, situated in his/her original, spiritual, constitutional position, an eternal soul, the loving servant of the Supreme Lord. Despite having such a universal outlook, Srila Haridasa Thakura was reviled and persecuted by the sectarian religionists and loved and adored by the open-hearted. He was imprisoned, tortured, taunted and insulted throughout his life. Nevertheless, he never gave up teaching and practicing the universal philosophy of jaiva-dharma by living a pure life, avoiding meat-eating, illicit sex, gambling and intoxication, and always chanting the names of God. Millions of people in India were attracted to the practices of jaiva-dharma, and eventually it was carried over the ocean to the USA by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupäda in the form of the Hare Krishna movement. From there, it spread all over the world. This chanting of the holy name is the universal, eternal, pure religion of the soul, and Haridasa Thakura is one of its greatest proponents, practitioners and saints.
The Sri Yantra Bhavana Upanishad is attributed to the Atharvaveda. It is a later Upanishad that illuminates the Bhavana or Deeper Emotions connected to the Sri Yantra, the body of the Mother Divine, and also the body of Divine Yogic Union of Purusha and Prakriti. It expounds the innermost intense feelings of the Soul, its basic desire, and ways and means to connect and unite with the ultimate consciousness. What is a Sri Yantra? A healing mandala diagram made by 4 Upward Apex Triangles and 5 Downward Apex Triangles, properly intertwined to represent - the cosmic forces in creation, and >The 9 Basic Triangles create a total of 43 Triangles due to the overlapping, which are grouped (shaded) as >Apart from these Triangles, - there is a central Dot (Bindu)- there are three Circles encircling the Triangles>Sanskrit Seed Sounds (bija mantra) like ॐ Om, are potent healing and nourishing energies. Sound is an energy. Pleasing sounds (meditative music, blessings) have excellent effects on one's behavior, attitude, and long-term all round success in life. An aesthetically made Mandala can become vastly superior when infused with Seed Sounds.----------Contains Black and white Plates
This book elucidates the nature of the One-Consciousness that alone is seen pervading the entirety of existence and also talks about the state of Sanatana-Dharma. This is a niche book which will benefit only those who love Sanatana-Dharma in its pristine form from prehistoric days and who now find it to be on the verge of extinction--and would now like to see Sanatana-Dharma make a comeback. This book is not suitable for everyone and is meant only for mature readers--who are keen to understand diverse viewpoints critical of their own beliefs. You are not welcome to read this book, especially if you are of another religion and get easily offended. This Book is for entertainment purposes only and is purely a work of fiction; all religions, nations, races, people, books, histories, places, events, timelines etc., referred to in this book--even those that might be construed to have any resemblance to the existing ones of the present times--are entirely fictional and intended to be used in a fictitious manner, and do not refer to any existing ones of the present age at all.Reading this book may cause lasting changes in your thought process and ideology; it may force you to rethink your entire belief system and bring fundamental changes in your life. Not everyone is ready for such massive transformations and hence we recommend that you do not read it. There is nothing in this book which can be of interest to children; only for adults.

"Korea's myths and folklore are rooted in the ancient history of a land inhabited since Neolithic times. The earliest years are subject to myth with some references to the Gojoseon Kingdom being found in the northern region of Korea and Southern province of China in the 2300s BCE. Records become more reliable from the middle of the first millennium BCE before a 700-year stretch which is referred to as The Three Kingdom period before the ultimate domination of one of those Kingdoms, Silla, roughly at the time of the Viking Age in Europe and Scandinavia. Before long, though, the Mongol invasions of Korea in the 1200s overwhelmed the local rulers."--

Steven J. Rosen's latest work on Sri Chaitanya (1486-1534) follows in a line of publications that are dedicated to disseminating knowledge of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, commonly known in the West as the Hare Krishna movement. A collection of his own essays, written for scholar and practitioner alike, Chaitanyology allows entrance into an otherwise esoteric phenomenon, highlighting both its intellectual and mystical elements. In this volume, we find thoroughly researched accounts of Sri Chaitanya's life narrative as well as articles on key subjects that show why his life has special meaning for practitioners today."Steven J. Rosen's latest contribution to the study of Chaitanya, follows in the wake of his lifelong and voluminous contribution to the field, appreciated by scholars and practitioners alike. Rosen, in his signature fashion, brings a scholarly voice to the life, philosophy and historical background of this consequential spiritual fi gure-a voice that contributes both to academic research in this fi eld, and to the intellectual fabric of practitioners' understanding of their own canonical tradition."Drawing on obscure texts, original research, and the research of numerous scholars, Rosen presents an eminently readable and well researched volume of intriguing detail, documenting little known facts and important observations that are sure to not only allow readers entrance into Chaitanya and his world, but also help one in one's own spiritual quest. Essential reading for both scholars of Indian religion and devotees of all persuasions."- Edwin Bryant, Professor of Hindu Philosophy and Religion, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey
This book is for the enquiring mind to know what the Hindu religion is about. At every point of one's life, many questions and enquiries would visit the mind. What is life, what religion is and what is my role. How does one fit into the system as a well accomplished human being. This book would serve as a starting point for those wanting to understand the Hindu religion.
A literary and historical investigation into an ancient Indian religious thinker, tracing his rise in importance in the Hindu tradition.
This edition is for sale outside USA.This English translation from the original Sanskrit by Adi Sankara is a very clear, aphoristic explanation of what the Self is and the Knowledge that reveals it. Each verse is presented in its original Sanskrit (Devanagari) form, a transliteration into English letters, word-for-word translation, and fluent, running translation. The word-for-word translation also gives alternative meanings for many phrases in the verses. Sankara's teachings in this volume are very reminiscent of the Maharshi's, and are a penetrating and glorious revelation of what is one's own True Self.
The Shiva Purana is the fifth book in an eighteen-part series on the sacred Hindu texts known collectively as the Puranas. Translated with great rigor and precision, Bibek Debroy recounts the tales of creation and the many myths that surround Lord Shiva in twenty-four thousand shlokas and an introduction that simplifies the myth and history of the Puranas. Brimming with insight and clarity, this translation presents readers with an opportunity to truly understand classical Indian texts. Previous translations by Bibek Debroy include the Bhagavata Purana, the Markandeya Purana, the Brahma Purana, and the Vishnu Purana.
An exponentially increasing number of people are aware that true and legitimate rulership is painfully absent from our political scene today. It is almost impossible to find a political leader today who we can have full faith and trust in. As a result of this vacuum of leadership, most nations in the world are currently enduring a dark state of interregnum, an historically dangerous era that exists in-between the administrations of rightful rulers. In this penetrating new book, Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya explains to us how we can clearly recognize the characteristics of an illegitimate leader, as well as the full repercussions of having to live in a modern nation-state that is mostly devoid of real leaders. More importantly, though, he also presents us with a full and inspirational portrait of what an honest and legitimate national leader actually looks like. As Acharya explains to us in this significant work, divinely empowered and legitimate leaders will soon arrive on the national scene, and we have every reason to be positive and optimistic about our future. This is a book that was created for our exact time in history. Chapter One: Our Current State of Interregnum Chapter Two: The Consequences of Low-Class Rulership Chapter Three: A Portrait of Social Dysfunction Chapter Four: Return of the True Ruler Chapter Five: Salvation from Our Present Interregnum Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya is the author of The Dharma Manifesto and Principles of Perfect Leadership, in addition to many other books. The immediate incentive to this undertaking was, a knowledge, or at least a strong impression, that a connected and explanatory translation of the rules of jurisprudence in the Dharma ¿ástra of Yájnavalkya was a practical want. Such impression was coincided in, and therefore proved correct, by a long list of local subscribers eminently qualified, by position and experience, to decide. Dr. Röer is responsible for the fidelity of the rendering, so far as depends on knowledge of the Sanscrit language and literature, of Hindu mythology and philosophy. Mr. Montriou has aided, so far as enabled by juridical acquirements and experience. The language of translation has, therefore, been a joint labour, often the result of much and anxious discussion, and, if not unfrequently but a choice of doubtful alternatives, yet, always a choice made with pains and circumspection. The text we have generally followed is Stenzler's which is based on and selected from two MSS. in the royal library at Berlin and two editions published in Calcutta. We have not neglected constant comparison with Stenzler's German translation as well as with the several detached passages as translated by Colebrooke and W. Macnaghten. Words within brackets are not in the original text. References to, and extracts from, the standard commentary upon Yájnavalkya, the Mitákshará, necessarily form the staple of our notes. All such extracts are distinguished by the initial (M.), and the author of the commentary we invariably refer to as, the Commentator. At the same time, we have not blindly or implicitly followed this commentator. In some sense all Hindu glosses are untrustworthy guides. They assume the text to be the language of inspiration; and, as the several Dharma ¿ástras not merely differ, but often dispose of the same subject in a contradictory manner, Pandits deem it their duty to reconcile all discrepancies, how forced soever their interpretations may be. In passages so dealt with, we have endeavoured to give the plain meaning of the original text. We gratefully acknowledge the obliging assistance, in research, enquiry, and suggestion, occasionally afforded, in the progress of our task, by Babus, Chandra Saikhur Dev and Shyámácharäa Sircar.
