He surely does! This book is filled with heartfelt stories, Bible verses, and quotations that show just how God speaks through foster experiences. Instead of coming from a voice like the roar of rushing waters, these lessons come from tiny paws.Enjoy some time cuddling with a furry friend and reflecting on God's handiwork in the lives of foster kittens and cats.

This book offers a critical understanding of the interface between holiness and intercession. The author reflectively narrates some of the selected biblical personalities and how holy living was exemplified in their interceding for others. Critically, the book argues that holiness in its intrinsic nature is about intercession for others. From the Old Testament to the New Testament, holiness is all about intercession, as has been ably demonstrated in this book starting with Abraham, Moses, David, and Solomon and going all the way to Jesus Christ, who sits on the right hand of God interceding for us.
In Living the Liturgy: A Witness, Father Luigi Giussani (1922-2005) shares his deepest convictions about the nature of the liturgy.

Myself as Another uniquely approaches the reality of the human person through an exploration of the writings of politicians, psychiatrists, and philosophers on the subject of personal identity and the "other." McNerney's treatment of these questions is made not on intellectual stilts, but rather with a focus on the heart of contemporary human experience in the light of God's self-revelation. Drawing deeply on the insights of Jewish, Protestant, and Catholic thinkers McNerney shows how a spirituality of unity can nourish us on "a journey to the heart of who we are.""In his new book Myself as Another Rev. Dr John McNerney confirms his reputation as a critical thinker, an outstanding writer, a significant scholar and philosopher extraordinaire. With his unique capacity to translate complex ideas into comprehensibility John explores that core human psycho-spiritual question of identity; 'Who am I'? 'Who do others say that I am'? 'How do I define myself in relation to the other'? As ever in his writing John speaks "heart to heart". He invites us into the company and profundity of eighteen seminal thinkers on the subject, guiding us gently and inexorably toward greater understanding of the dignity of the human person and the quest to preserve and respect that in all our encounters and institutions. One emerges from this erudite text wiser, kinder, edified, inspired and imbued with passionate commitment to the personhood of others. A fascinating glimpse into the life of one of the Early Church Fathers, his defence of orthodox theology, and how his Christ-centredness has shaped the faith of the Church. Cyril of Alexandria (c. 376 - 444 AD) was a towering figure in early Christianity, renowned for his theological prowess and leadership as the Patriarch of Alexandria. Born into a prominent Christian family, Cyril received a comprehensive education in theology and philosophy, which equipped him for his future role as a defender of orthodox Christian doctrine. Daniel Hames unpacks Cyril's tenure as Patriarch, marked by significant theological controversies, notably his fierce defense of the divinity of Christ against the teachings of Nestorius, culminating in the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. Cyril played a pivotal role in condemning Nestorianism and affirming the doctrine of the hypostatic union - the belief in the union of Christ's divine and human natures in one person. Cyril's legacy endures as one of the most influential figures in the development of the doctrine of Christ, shaping the theological landscape of Christianity for centuries to come. Contents: Series Preface A Chronology of Cyril's Life Foreword 1. The Man, the Myth, the Legend 2. The Nestorian Controversy 3. Who is Jesus? 4. Who is God? 5. What is Salvation? 6. Chalcedon and Beyond Afterword Hames begins with some history and biography of Cyril before setting up the dynamics of the controversy with Nestorius. The chapters on Jesus, God and salvation are a look into Cyril's theology, especially in the light of the battle he was fighting. The final chapter and afterword survey his influence on the church immediately after his lifetime and highlight some of the ways we might turn to Cyril today as we navigate the question and debates of our own time. Early Church Fathers series edited by Michael A. G. Haykin and Shawn J. Wilhite, this series relates the magnificent impact that those fathers of the early church had on our world today Extra Features: a chronology of Cyril's life, including key councils held in the years following his death Theologically Instructive: helps us understand the importance of applying correct Christology

Michael A. Milton uncovers the treasures of one of the Bible's regularly overlooked books in this pastoral treatment of Leviticus. God's call changed everything for the Israelites. Amid the vast, severe wilderness landscape of the Sinai region, in sun-scorched sorrow and disappointment over a recent national sin - the creation and worship of an idol of smelted jewelry - life abruptly changes. With the first line of Leviticus, "And the Lord called," God interrupts time and space, regret and reason, futility and hope. He reveals the pattern of the gospel: the holiness of God, the problem of human sin, God's plan of salvation, His call to holiness through His gracious provision. He shows a way for sinful humans to live in the presence of a holy God. Leviticus for modern-day Christians This call doesn't just affect the ancient Israelites - Milton shows how Leviticus still speaks to Christ's followers today. This book of the law points consistently to Jesus, the fullness and fulfilment of every antitype. It reveals to us in stark terms the abhorrence of sin, and the barrier it creates between mankind and God. Beginning with a helpful overview of Leviticus, and after providing some beneficial information about its title, authorship, time and biblical context, Milton tackles the book in four sections: Called to Worship (chapters 1-7) Called to Ministry (chapters 8-10) Called to Purity (chapters 11-16) Called to Holiness (chapters 17-27) Throughout, we see how this call applies not only to the ancient Israelites, but also to us. Get into this fascinating book Approaching God will be excellent for personal bible study, or for a pastor or small group leader working through the book.
This volume engages with the centrality of the popes within the Catholic Church and the claim of papal authority as it was exercised through the institution's various governing instruments. Addressing the history of the papacy in the longue durée, it highlights developments and the differences between the first and second millennium of the papacy. The chapters bring nuance to older historiographical models of papal supremacy, focusing on how apostolic primacy was contested and re-negotiated, and how the contours of power relationships shifted between center and periphery. The volume draws attention to questions about papal supremacy across time, place, and transnational lines; the function of law in the exercise of papal authority; the governance of the church in the form of the Curia, synods, and regional and ecumenical councils; the governance of the Papal States; the management of finances and church-state relations; and the relationship between papal temporal and spiritual authority.

Many ask themselves, "Is this all there is? And if so, why have all of life's choicest possessions, achievements, relationships, pursuits, and experiences left me wanting something more?" It's time to get some answers...straight from God's Word.

Have you ever wanted to express your honest opinion about someone but didn't know how to do it kindly? Have you ever been hurt by someone? Do you ever wonder what motivates people to do what they do?We all know people aren't perfect, but why do we get mad when people make mistakes? We claim to appreciate differences, but there are times when we expect people to conform to our standards. As followers of Jesus, we are told that we are one, but why do we keep building walls based on our cultural differences, social issues, political views, personal ideologies, and past experiences? These divisions, along with the pain we carry and the disappointments we have experienced, can ruin relationships, harm individuals, and, most importantly, dishonor God. After the damage has been done, we sit and wonder what went wrong. Our divisions have the potential to ruin our witness to the world, and our behaviors can turn unbelievers away from ever-knowing Christ. In People Suck, God is Good, Dr. Malcolm Walls Jr. writes from a place of realism and vulnerability, bravely confronts division among people by breaking down the root causes of division, and highlights how our experiences, cultural differences, past hurts, values, and beliefs can easily separate the people of God. By using the Bible, he reveals why we must strive to grow in our faith, break down the walls of division, and work towards creating unity and authentic community with other followers of Jesus regardless of their backgrounds, beliefs, and brokenness. The insights shared by Dr. Walls will help people go deeper in their personal faith journey and inspire the pursuit of unity in Christ for abundant living and God's glory.
