J'ai voyagé dans l'Esprit avec l'un des anges en Océanie. Cela fera l'objet d'un autre livre. Mais pour l'instant, au cours de ce jeûne. Le Seigneur n'arrêtait pas d'attirer mon attention sur le mot "PERFECTION". Sa parole n'arrêtait pas de clignoter dans mon esprit, homme.     Die Katholisch-apostolischen Gemeinden sind heute weitgehend aus der Öffentlichkeit verschwunden. Obwohl in ca. 40 Städten in Deutschland noch aktive Gemeinden mit zum Teil stattlichen Kirchengebäuden bestehen, treten sie im ökumenischen Miteinander kaum in Erscheinung. Das war nicht immer so. Die Gemeinden, die in England in den 1830er Jahren entstanden, begannen in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts eine intensive Mission in den deutschsprachigen Ländern. Sie verbanden eine ökumenische Vision mit einer endzeitlichen Erwartung. Ihr Ziel war, die zerteilte Christenheit für die baldig erwartete Wiederkunft Jesu Christi zu einen. Die Missionstätigkeit war sehr erfolgreich: von Marburg (Lahn) und Berlin aus bildeten sich bis zur Jahrhundertwende mehr als 300 Gemeinden. Trotz ihrer ökumenischen Gesinnung und einer freundlichen Haltung gegenüber den bestehenden Kirchen entwickelten sich zahlreiche Konflikte mit den evangelischen Landeskirchen, in deren Gebiet sie wirkten. Diese Arbeit beleuchtet Entstehung, Theologie und Kernanliegen der Katholisch-apostolischen Gemeinden. Sie zeichnet den Beginn der Missionstätigkeit in Deutschland nach, wobei besonders die Gründung der Gemeinde in Marburg (Lahn) und ihr Leiter, der Theologieprofessor Heinrich W. J. Thiersch in den Blick genommen werden. Anschließend wird der Konflikt mit der Ev. Landeskirche an einem konkreten Fall geschildert: In dem kleinen waldeckischen Dorf Rhenegge entstand eine Katholisch-apostolische Gemeinde, deren Mitglieder nach einer Auseinandersetzung mit den kirchlichen Behörden im Jahr 1892 aus der Landeskirche ausgeschlossen wurden. Dazu wird ein Aktenbestand des ehemaligen Waldeckischen Konsistoriums erstmals ausgewertet. Die Arbeit wurde im Jahr 2022 als Masterarbeit im Masterstudiengang Ev. Theologie (M. Th.) in Marburg angenommen.
