Wie können diese PotenTiale im Sinne einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung genutzt werden, die ganzheitlich die gesellschaftlichen und natürlichen Dimensionen berücksichtigt?Dies ist ein Open-Access-Buch.Landökosysteme erbringen verschiedene unersetzbare Ökosystemleistungen für die Gesellschaft, wie etwa Nahrungsmittel oder Schutz vor Naturgefahren. Die landbasierte Produktion, die Produktverarbeitung und der Konsum verursachen Treibhausgasemissionen und Biodiversitätsverluste. Der Klimawandel und die gewählten Anpassungsmaßnahmen verschärfen die Konfliktpotentiale.Es bedarf wissensbasierter und gesellschaftlich akzeptierter politischer Entscheidungen, um die vorhandenen Synergien verschiedener Landnutzungsformen zu nutzen und auszubauen, und gleichzeitig Zielkonflikte und unerwünschte Effekte zu minimieren. Der APCC Special Report: Landnutzung und Klimawandel in Österreich wurde im Bewusstsein der Verflechtungen der Klima- und der Biodiversitätskrise mit geopolitischen Änderungen verfasst. Er dient der Zusammenfassung und Bewertung des gegenwärtigen Wissens zum Thema Landnutzung und Klimawandel und deren Verflechtungen. Es werden die Handlungsoptionen der Anpassung und der Minderung des Klimawandels unter Berücksichtigung von Produktion, gesellschaftlichen Ansprüchen, rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen und dem Konsumverhalten vorgestellt und bewertet. Der Bericht gliedert sich in acht thematische Kapitel und eine Synopsis. Eine technische Zusammenfassung enthält die Kernbotschaften der Kapitel, und die Zusammenfassung für politische Entscheidungsträger bringt die Aussagen des Berichtes in knapper Form zur Kenntnis. Im APCC Special Report kommen 130 Autoren aus vielen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen zu Wort. Jede große Transformation in der Geschichte der Menschheit wurde bisher von einer kulturellen Revolution ausgelöst und begleitet. Diese Publikation zeigt, warum dies auch für die Transformation zur Nachhaltigkeit gilt. Im Fokus stehen nicht nur Werte, Menschen- und Naturbilder, sondern auch die gesellschaftliche Verantwortung von Bildung, Wissenschaft, Kunst und Medien. Für die zweite Auflage wurden die Inhalte überarbeitet und aktualisiert, Thesen geschärft und neue Studien einbezogen.Gegenwärtig befinden wir uns zwischen zwei großen gesellschaftlichen Transformationen: Die erste ist die kapitalistisch-industrielle, die vor fünf Jahrhunderten begann, bis heute dominiert und sich am Kulturprogramm der Modernisierung orientiert. Bioökonomie ist eine neue branchenübergreifende Form des Wirtschaftens, die das Potenzial hat, die bisherige Ökonomie und einzelne Regionen grundlegend zu verändern. To assess the validity of the results, the limits of thiscommonly used method (lifetime spectroscopy) are analyzed by evaluation of simulatedlifetime data. Further, a guideline for future lifetime evaluations is given which canimprove the outcome of the complex evaluation and helps differentiate between bulkand surface effects.

Mit diesem Band gewinnt die deutschsprachige Forschung transdisziplinär Anschluss an die internationalen Nature Writing-Diskussionen. Der Sammelband sondiert das Feld des Nature Writing hinsichtlich der Frage, welche Natur dabei in den unterschiedlichen historisch-kulturellen Konstellationen in jeweils welcher spezifischen literarischen Textur zur Darstellung kommt. Programmatisch-konzeptionell stehen damit nicht zuletzt die (möglicherweise verdeckt normativen) Naturvorstellungen des klassischen und rezenten Nature Writing zur Diskussion. Dies wird in exemplarischen Lektüren untersucht, etwa, indem die Kategorien einer ¿unberührten¿ Natur bzw. des ¿Wilden¿ ¿ auch im Kontext des sogenannten Rewilding ¿ problematisiert oder aber die ästhetisch geformte Darstellung zivilisatorisch veränderter, sei es anthropogen zerstörter, sei es gärtnerischer gestalteter Natur analysiert wird. Präsentiert werden Beiträge aus amerikanistischer, germanistischer, philosophischer und biologiegeschichtlicher Perspektive zu prominenten Vertreter*innen des englischsprachigen Nature Writing (Henry David Thoreau, Val Plumwood u.a.) ebenso wie zu indigenem Natur-Wissen (Robin Wall Kimmerer) und zu Werken deutschsprachiger naturaffiner Autor*innen der Tradition (Adalbert von Chamisso) und Gegenwart (z.B. Ulrike Draesner, Esther Kinsky und W.G. Sebald). Die Untersuchungen ästhetischer Natur-Darstellungsverfahren erfolgen in close readings sowie im Horizont von politischer Ökologie, New Materialism, Ecocriticism, den seit geraumer Zeit gerade in England geführten Diskussionen zu Möglichkeiten und Grenzen eines New Nature Writing und den jüngsten Bestrebungen, die verschüttete Linie eines deutschsprachigen Nature Writing zu rekonstruieren.
