This book constitutes the First Segmentation of the Aorta Challenge, SEG.A. 2023, which was held in conjunction with the 26th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2023, on October 8, 2023. The 8 full and 3 short papers presented have been carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the book. They focus specifically on robustness, visual quality and meshing of automatically generated segmentations of aortic vessel trees from CT imaging. The challenge was organized as a ¿container submission¿ challenge, where participants had to upload their algorithms to Grand Challenge in the form of Docker containers. Three tasks were created for SEG.A. 2023.
Humans use their eyes and their brains to see and visually sense the three-dimensional structure of the world around them. Computer Vision is the science that aims to give a similar, if not better, an ability to a machine or computer. Computer Vision is concerned with the automatic extraction, analysis and understanding of useful information from a single image or a sequence of images. It involves the development of a theoretical and algorithmic basis to achieve visual understanding. The term "surveillance" is derived from the French word meaning "to watch over" and, as applied to public health, means the close monitoring of the occurrence of selected health conditions in the population. In 1963, disease surveillance was de¿ned as "the continued watchfulness over the distribution and trends of incidence through systematic collection, consolidation, and evaluation of morbidity. The mortality reports and other relevant data" directly linked to timely regular dissemination of the results to "those who need to know" . The word surveillance means to observe a speci¿c area or to monitor the activities or behavior of individual or a group. It is very useful to the government to maintain social control, monitor and recognize threats, and investigate criminal activity. Digital and intelligent video surveillance has been one of the most active research areas in the ¿eld of computer vision. The goal is to e¿ciently extract useful information from a huge amount of videos collected by surveillance cameras by automatically detecting, tracking and recognizing objects of interest, and understanding and analyzing their activities.Surveillance cameras or video cameras normally used for the reason of recording or monitoring sensitive or strategic areas of a particular business. They are often connected to a recording device, and may be watching by a security guard or law enforcement öcer. A surveillance camera can be placed in strategic locations throughout private or public areas.

The second part focuses on the utilization of modulated apertures in speckle imaging, elucidating their significance and relevance in this context. This section provides a comprehensive understanding of the practical applications of modulated apertures in image formation. The third and final part explores the application of modulated apertures within the framework of a confocal scanning laser microscope. The objective here is to enhance microscope resolution and image contrast, contributing tothe advancement of microscopy techniques. This book offers a concise and objective exploration of modulated apertures' fabrication, applications, and their potential to enhance microscopy. This book is a valuable reference for students and researchers seeking to deepen their knowledge in this specialized field.
Computer-Assisted Diagnostics (CAD) using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model has become an important technology in the medical industry, improving the accuracy of diagnostics. However, the lack Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data leads to the failure of the depth study algorithm. Medical records are often different because of the cost of obtaining information and the time spent consuming the information. In general, clinical data is unreliable and therefore the training of neural network methods to distribute disease across classes does not yield the desired results. Data augmentation is often done by training data to solve problems caused by augmentation tasks such as scaling, cropping, flipping, padding, rotation, translation, affine transformation, and color augmentation techniques such as brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue.Data Augmentation and Segmentation imaging using GAN can be used to provide clear images of brain, liver, chest, abdomen, and liver on an MRI. In addition, GAN shows strong promise in the field of clinical image synthesis. In many cases, clinical evaluation is limited by a lack of data and/or the cost of actual information. GAN can overcome these problems by enabling scientists and clinicians to work on beautiful and realistic images. This can improve diagnosis, prognosis, and disease. Finally, GAN highlights the potential for location of patient information within the data. This is a beneficial clinical application of GAN because it can effectivelyprotect patient confidentiality. This book covers the application of GANs on medical imaging augmentation and segmentation.
One of the main benefits of this book is that it presents a comprehensive and innovative eHealth framework that leverages deep learning and IoT wearable devices for the evaluation of Parkinson's disease patients. This framework offers a new way to assess and monitor patients' motor deficits in a personalized and automated way, improving the efficiency and accuracy of diagnosis and treatment.Compared to other books on eHealth and Parkinson's disease, this book offers a unique perspective and solution to the challenges facing patients and healthcare providers. It combines state-of-the-art technology, such as wearable devices and deep learning algorithms, with clinical expertise to develop a personalized and efficient evaluation framework for Parkinson's disease patients. This book provides a roadmap for the integration of cutting-edge technology into clinical practice, paving the way for more effective and patient-centered healthcare. To understand this book, readers should have a basic knowledge of eHealth, IoT, deep learning, and Parkinson's disease. However, the book provides clear explanations and examples to make the content accessible to a wider audience, including researchers, practitioners, and students interested in the intersection of technology and healthcare.
