Two months have passed since Virgil and Haley escaped from Purgatory, an underground prison on the volatile volcanic moon of IO. But their troubles aren't over yet. While Xenex guides Virgil and Haley through harnessing their gifts, Cameron is about to discover that his own power is even more awe-inspiring than he first thought. With his newfound mastery over life and death, Cameron should just be satisfied with keeping himself alive. Then, while being forced to work for the Russian mob, he meets Marcus Raine-Virgil's father-and knows he has to find his friends.
