Uciteljev Dnevnik je neposredna posledica Skotskega pravila Izobrazevanja, ki je prepovedovalo vpisovanje zapazanj ali mnenj v uradni Dnevnik. Z obilico previdnosti se mlad Ucitelj odloci, da bo pisal Osebni Dnevnik. Vanj izlije tezave in veselja delovnega dne in s svojo neprisiljenostjo marsikdaj preseneti tudi svoje ucence. Velik del izobrazevalnega procesa ne razume, to, kar pa dojema, je Otrokov Razum. Krasi ga resilni smisel za humor.
