Young Eric was disappointed as he sat trying to get well. Captain Graham, a stranger he met on the beach, became a good friend. One day his dog retrieved an old book, the Gospel of Mark, from the ocean and it was used by God for opening his mind to Jesus. Eventually Eric's whole disposition was changed and he was made happy in Christ. Eric became a positive influence in the lives of those around him. A quote from the book: "'Ah! well!' he muttered, 'I envy that child's faith and happiness, and more than half feel inclined to follow his example. It is not a religion he has got hold of, but a real Person-it makes a vast difference, I fancy!'"

Her mother, Mrs. Eustace makes her living by writing stories. Brownie and Buffie were playing in the woods when they heard what sounded like an angel, and Angelo became their new friend. Soon Angelo needed a new guardian and they thought that God would miraculously provide for him, but this did not happen without the testing of their faith.
The Parable of the Prodigal Son is illustrated several times in this allegorical children's story. Little Milly's innocent understanding of the Bible became the simple wisdom that was needed by the adults around her. The "Probable Son" as she calls it, is the substance of her hopes and her prayers throughout the story. "I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."-John 10:15.

'And that's the story of my button, ' pursued the boy, ignoring with scorn this last remark. 'And did your father have only one button to his coat?' The voice was a strange one, and the boys turned round to meet the curious gaze of a sturdy little damsel, who had, unnoticed, joined the group. She was not dressed as an ordinary village child, but in a little rough serge sailor suit, with a large hat to match, set well back on a quantity of loose dark hair. A rosy-cheeked square-set little figure she was, and her brown eyes, fringed with long black lashes, looked straight at Teddy with something of defiance and scorn in their glance. Though at first a little taken aback, Teddy rose to the occasion.

Teddy's button is the title of the book, which was written by Amy Le Feure. This story will help kids understand the internal spiritual battle as Teddy learns that he is his own worst enemy. One of the many lessons that obstinate boys and girls learn as they continue to stand fast in the face of their own conceit is that if they are to prevail in battle, they must lead with love rather than with force and hatred. Children can learn about the spiritual war that occurs in their souls and how both parents and children are fighting for the same cause by reading Amy Lefeuvre's lovely story. One question can come up repeatedly. Who is your most vile and vicious enemy? You might have a different response to that query after reading Teddy's Button. Teddy Platt, who is flamboyant, can't help but talk about the illustrious past of his precious button. His passion soon puts him at odds with a fresh young girl in hamlet. Teddy is brought to his knees by God as a result of this animosity, ready to enlist in the Lord's Army and fight his own worst enemy, himself!

Christian fiction: The story of four sisters and the journey God takes them...About the authorAmelia Sophia Le Feuvre (1861 - 1929), better known as Amy Le Feuvre, was an English evangelical Christian writer of children's novels and short stories. She authored more than 65 books and wrote for several magazines including The Quiver. Le Feuvre prominently expressed her religious beliefs in the themes of her works. Although she often wrote under her own name, she also used the pseudonym Mary Thurston Dodge. Her debut novel, Eric's Good News, was first published in 1894, while her final novel, A Strange Courtship, was published 1931, two years after her death. Le Feuvre is best remembered for Teddy's Button, a 1896 novel that, like many of her novels, features a badly behaved child who has honourable intentions that are misunderstood by the adults.
