The trial of Alice Crimmins was the main talk in the 1960s as it divided the country into two opposing sides. While the Casey Anthony trial was very straightforward because of the numerous evidence that pointed in the direction of her guilt, Alice Crimmins's case lacked the physical proof that could link the woman directly to the murders of her own kids. Regardless of this, the prosecution put her on trial, and they won. It was a different time when women and mothers were supposed to behave in an acceptable way. Alice didn't fit the norm, and she quickly rose up as the number one suspect even though it was unclear if she had any involvement in the deaths of her two kids. She was judged by everyone because of her lifestyle and the fact that she had an estranged husband. But was Alice Crimmins really guilty of the crimes? Or was the investigation sidetracked by the prejudice?

There are so many reasons why people become serial killers. However, it is quite uncommon to meet a murderer who is willing to share the sensitive information with the authorities in order to have some financial gain and risk getting caught. Exactly this happened with Robert Maury, a serial killer who would often call the anonymous witness hotline and reveal where his victims are buried in order to collect the reward. Perhaps he could have gotten away with it if he managed to control himself and report just one victim. But Maury got greedy, knowing that he could earn even more money from providing the information to the investigators. Thanks to the phone operators who found this man and his phone calls very suspicious, Robert Maury was held by the police and subsequently charged with multiple murders. It was after his third call to the witness hotline when the investigators decided to trail him and observe his behavior. He was on their radar prior to the arrest, but they couldn't find any physical evidence which could link him to the murders. The law enforcement managed to put an end to a dangerous man and his string of murders. Maury would clearly do anything in order to earn money and continue killing innocent victims all over the country.

When a person vanishes into thin air without any evidence or leads, the police are usually left helpless to search for answers. After some time these cases will become cold, and the families of the missing persons would lead their lives, hoping that one day their loved one will return or they might get some answers about what really happened to them. The family of Lynne Schulze went through the same thing because their daughter and sister vanished in 1971 and never came back.
