Twenty-three stories by women. Written in a community over 9 months. One vulnerable word at a time, the successful authors in this book reclaimed hidden aspects of their own personal power: writing to heal a story in their lives. These twenty-three women initially met through a coaching program including both men and women, and thus were accustomed to "listening" to one another, practicing the artful trade of supporting and empowering others. In many of the stories, women wrote about the ways they had been diminished in religion, families, relationships, school, work and the world and they learned through writing and self-discovery: *An empowered voice listens. *An empowered voice speaks the truth. *An empowered voice will not be silenced. They share their stories as the next step in leadership so that you may see your situation and your life in a new light; helping you to reclaim your own personal power, to move past obstacles and find the strength to step into your greatness.
It takes courage and commitment to awaken to a new vision. The twenty-two women authors in this book entered the Heal My Voice community book circle space with enthusiasm and openness and a willingness to be vulnerable.. They took a leap of faith that a story would emerge to open the door to new discoveries, healing, wisdom and personal power. This was an experience of conscious community where each of us had the opportunity to see, really see each other and experience being truly seen. In the writing process, our individual lives changed and our relationships and families benefited. We learn in community. Deepen connections. Experience authenticity and intimacy. Collaborate. Inspire each other with our voices and our visions. The authors share their stories as the next step in reclaiming power with a new vision; sharing inspiration so that you, too, can move past obstacles and find the strength to step into your greatness. These women ARE the Visionaries of Today! "We all encounter road blocks along our journey 'I'm not ready; I don't have (something); I am not enough' these women challenged themselves past these hurdles. Their inspiration was just too strong to hold them back! Their stories are raw and real and remind us all to be our true selves. They are doing it and their voices inspire us to do the same. Mary K. Redington, Founder and Executive Director of Dramatic Adventure Theatre, www.dramaticadventure.com "Inspiration is an energy, which we accept through the conscious corridor of choice. The stories in this book celebrate the sharing of ones self; an ideal for knowledge, empowerment, thought, love, and support. As we awaken through the reading of these stories I say Thank You to all of you who are witnessing the amazing women who are on a transformational journey of healing shared through their Voices. We remember that we are all uniquely blessed with the gift to share and inspire. We nurture this as oxygen for our soul. We value, respect and champion all that inspires us. Understanding the power within us for change through the conscious collective of Inspired Voices!" Michael LaBellarte, Storyteller, Communicator and Awakened Man www.labellarte.net

An Evolutionary Woman's Journey This book is about a woman's personal journey written in a community of women called Heal My Voice. "When I first started Heal My Voice, the following words were shared with me while in meditation. "Hold it lightly. Allow it to evolve and shift and grow. You are the guardian. Be willing to let it go." Andrea Hylen, Founder of Heal My Voice Part I of this book is the journey of the self. Andrea Hylen, shares fourteen of her personal stories of awakening and evolution. The death of a brother, a son, and a husband. A divorce and a life-threatening illness. Traveling to music concerts with her youngest daughter and moving from Maryland to California where she started Heal My Voice. Stories of self-love, grief, sexuality, music, writing, and adventure. They are stories of triumph over adversity. In Part II, Andrea shares inspiration and details, from topic discussions, in ten books of women's stories created during nine-month projects in Heal My Voice and Heal My Voice Sweden. There is an overview of the writing process used in the projects and the back story of things that were learned as a facilitator and participant in the process. At the end of each chapter, there is a list of reflective questions to use in writing and meditation, with resources and personal growth tools used in her personal healing and in the Heal My Voice on-line community. Welcome to Living on the Edge Radio... "My name is Andrea Hylen and I am your host tonight. " And so began the introduction of forty-four internet radio shows aired over the holidays in 2010. Twenty-seven guests and seventeen personal stories from the host. The chapters in this book are conversations rich with real stories of loss and healing, tools and resources, hope and inspiration. From the Introduction: Grieving is a multi-dimensional, illusive being at times. It seems like it would be so easy to grieve. Cry, release the feelings and move on. But, grief shows up in our lives in many ways. There are layers and layers that must be honored and healed. There is no timing or prediction of where and when it will show up. And mixed into all of the "big" events to grieve are the disappointments which we all have and where there are layers of grief. The loss of the part in the school play, the boyfriend or girlfriend who dumped you, the layoff from a job, the dreams that did not happen. All of the memories are inside of you waiting to be expressed and released. This Book is Part 1 of the radio shows and includes conversations with Debbie Phillips, Andrea Raynor, Jeff Brown, Carin Channing, Alan Peterson, Anna Stookey, Elizabeth St. Germain, G. Brian Benson and Betsy McMahan. The conversations focus on feeling the feelings and understanding grief, as well as, offering tools you can use to support your process of feeling, healing and transforming your grief. We hope the conversations will help you to find a path to explore your own journey and see the light that is present in the dark.
Women Exploring Connection and Desire Twelve women from Sweden; eight women from the United States gathered in a secret Facebook group and on community phone calls stoking the fire to stir up the burning embers of desire, connection and sensuality hidden within our souls. We explored universal experiences of a woman's body: Menstruation. Childbirth. Menopause. Sexual Desire. We discussed body sensations of sensuality, power, grief, abandonment, trauma life and death with courage and vulnerability. Our experiences included deep listening, a willingness to write our personal stories and at the end of the process, clarity around the next step in leadership. From the Foreword by Brig Feltus: "I have everything I want. There is no more powerful statement an individual can make. And vulnerability, it turns out, is key. To get to those inner desires I had to peel back all those layers of programming and reveal my true self. I had to then acknowledge my desires, and then choose to be the woman I needed to be in order to make that one statement, "I have everything I want" true. So here I am. My desire right now is to introduce you to this incredible opportunity to receive inspiration, motivation, and movement through the incredible stories of these extraordinary women. If you are reading this foreword, your time has come. A portal is opening; you are being beckoned to cross the threshold. Will you answer the call? Will you open yourself to be vulnerable enough to receive the incredible wealth of life experience found herein? I trust you will. " We invite you to open yourself to a new perspective as you read the stories and ask yourself some questions. *What if we could spread Universal Love by donating energy, money and time to empower women and girls? *What if women supported each other with parenting tips instead of judging and comparing and competing to be the best parent with the best child? *What if we opened to the anomalies in life by accepting our unique differences and stopped trying to be carbon copies of each other? *What if we accepted that relationships could be monogamous, open, dynamic, hetero, homo, bi and we supported each other to love who we love? *What if we shared our vulnerability, wisdom, and claimed our personal power and inner authority? *What if we put our ideas together and changed the things that aren't working on the planet, finding new solutions and building the future together? *What if we allowed ourselves to feel everything and to notice it without making anyone else right or wrong? As you read the stories in this book, we invite you to listen for your own questions and answers. Close your eyes. Connect with your heart. And randomly open to a story. Go now. Enter the pages and be open to the mystery of what will unfold. Your Voice Matters.
"The world will be saved by the western woman," His Holiness the Dalai Lama, at the Peace Summit in Vancouver, 2011. The eighteen women authors in this book give you a glimpse of what it looks like when the western woman explores and discovers herself as a leader. The women share stories of transforming their leadership styles in work, parenting, health care, recovery and love. They challenged themselves to become more visible, to share their unique gifts, to offer new ideas, to heal old wounds and to take inspired action. Their stories demonstrate what is possible when Western women take their place as leaders in the world. From the Foreword by Mary K. Baxter: "Eight years ago, I collaborated with a fellow theatre artist to begin a new theatre company. We had this crazy idea to bring actors to disenfranchised communities to work with kids and teach them storytelling skills. Together we wrote a business plan, built a website, made a budget, auditioned actors and organized a project for a group to travel to Zimbabwe. While there, we had a challenge that required a meeting with our hosts. I don't remember the words that were said in this meeting, all I can speak to is how I felt. I felt small. I felt like my voice didn't matter. I felt like I would ask a question and the response would be directed to my male partner. I felt out of place. I felt that my ideas were irrelevant. I felt like I didn't belong, that I should be in the kitchen cleaning dishes, that my contribution to the conversation was null. What I do remember is that I stayed in the room and contributed to the solution and I was the person on our team who implemented the plan. This is why this book is relevant. The eighteen authors in this book all have their own unique experience gaining and reclaiming their voice of leadership. Our voices matter." Your Voice Matters, too
