இனிக்கும் பாடல்கள் என்னும் இந்நூல் குழந்தைக் கவிஞர் அழ. வள்ளியப்பா அவர்கள் குழந்தைகளுக்காக இயற்றிய பாடல்களின் தொகுப்பு நூலாகும்.

'கதை' என்று சொன்னதுமே, சிறுவர்களின் மலர் முகங்களில் மகிழ்ச்சி தாண்டவமாடுகிறது. இனிக்க இனிக்க அவர்களுக்குக் கதை சொல்லி இன்பம் பெற்ற பாட்டிமார்களின் எண்ணிக்கைக்குத்தான் கணக்குண்டா? பரம்பரை பரம்பரையாக வந்த கதைகளைத் தான் காது வழியாகக் கேட்டு, வாய் வழியாகப் பேரக் குழந்தைகளுக்குப் பாட்டிமார் கூறிவந்தார்கள். இங்ஙனம் கூறப்பட்டுவந்த கதைகளை, 'அழிந்து போகாமல் காப்பாற்றவேண்டுமே' என்ற ஆசையில் அவற்றையெல்லாம் திரட்டித் தொகுத்தார்கள் சிலர். தாங்களாகவே சில கதைகளைக் கற்பனைசெய்து, அவற்றைக் குழந்தைகளிடத்திலே கூறிவந்தார்கள் வேறு சிலர். இன்னும் சிலர், அவ்வப்போது பல கதைகளை நாட்டு மக்களிடம் கூறி, அவர்களை நல்வழிப் படுத்திவந்தார்கள். இவ்வாறு கூறப்பட்டுவந்த கதைகள் அந்தந்த நாட்டு எல்லைகளைக் கடந்து, மலைகளைக் கடந்து, கடல்களைக் கடந்து உலகமெங்கும் பரவி, ஆங்காங்கேயுள்ள குழந்தைகளுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி ஊட்டி வருவதை இன்று நாம் காண்கின்றோம். சாகாவரம் பெற்ற அக் கதைகளைத் தந்த ஆசிரியர்களைப் பற்றிக் குழந்தைகள் அறிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டியது மிகவும் அவசியமாகும்.

மாலை நேரம். கடல் காற்று 'ஜில்' என்று வீசிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. பட்டினத்தில் காசு கொடுக்காமல் வாங்கக்கூடியது அந்தக் காற்று ஒன்றுதானே! ஆகையால், அதை வாங்குவதற்காகக் கடற்கரையை நோக்கி வேகமாக நடந்து கொண்டிருந்தான் மோஹன், கடற்கரை மணலில் பாதி தூரங்கூட அவன் போகவில்லை. அதற்குள் தூரத்தில் வந்துகொண்டிருந்த இரண்டு குதிரைகளை அவன் பார்த்து விட்டான். குதிரைகள் இரண்டும் சும்மா வரவில்லை. ஒன்று, ஒரு பையனை முதுகில் ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தது. மற்றொன்று ஒரு பெண்ணை ஏற்றிக்கொண்டு வந்தது. 'ஜாம், ஜாம்' என்று அந்தக் குதிரைகள் வருவதைக் கண்டான் மோஹன்; அப்போது அவனையும் அறியாமல் அவனுக்கு ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சி ஏற்பட்டுவிட்டது.

குழந்தைக் கவிஞர் யார் என்று கேட்டால், உங்கள் எல்லோரிடமிருந்து வரும் ஒரே பதில் அழ. வள்ளியப்பா என்பதுதான்! ஏனென்றால் உங்களுக்கெல்லாம் அவரை நன்றாகத் தெரியும். அவர் தமக்குக் கிடைக்கும் ஓய்வு நேரத்தை எல்லாம் உங்களுக்காகவே ஒதுக்கி வைத்து, உழைத்து வருகிறார். அவர் இதுவரை நூற்றுக்கணக்கான பாடல்கள் எழுதியிருக்கிறார். அவருடைய பாடல்கள் குழந்தைப் பத்திரிகைகளில் அடிக்கடி வெளிவருகின்றன. நீங்களும் படித்துப் படித்து மகிழ்கின்றீர்கள். அவைகளில் சிலவற்றைத் தொகுத்து இப்புத்தகத்தை வெளியிடுகிறோம். இதில் கதைப் பாடல்கள் இருக்கின்றன; கருத்துள்ள பாடல்கள் இருக்கின்றன; வேடிக்கைப் பாடல்கள் இருக்கின்றன. எல்லாவற்றையும் எளிய நடையில், உங்களுக்குப் புரியும்படியாக எழுதி இருக்கிறார்.
