As King Xalton's heath continues to wane, Skeltar marches on the Straltonian capital city of Zebulon. His army is small, but with all the hellish might of the demon Dhampir at his side---and the added dreadful power of the fabled Black Scroll in his hands---he represents the greatest threat the world of men has ever seen. But Skeltar isn't the only one with dreams of power. Another army is moving in from the north. Like vultures on a dying corpse, his foes are creeping nearer every day, and while the king hesitates in strengthening Zebulon's defences, his citizens tremble in fear of Skeltar's diabolical arts and beg the gods to spare them. While their desperate pleas go unanswered, Joktan sharpens his sword. Civilization might be going to Hell, but they're going to have to get in line. This savage has a score to settle, and he's not about to be deterred by a wizard and his pets. Even Hell doesn't have enough demons to stop Joktan the Savage from extracting the vengeance he seeks.
King Xalton is ruler of Straltonia, the mightiest empire to ever exist among the kingdoms of the Westermarck. His wealth is limitless, his power unrivalled, and his reputation for satisfying the world's most beautiful women legendary. Now his life hangs by a thread. A mysterious illness is slowly ravaging his strength, and the greatest doctors money can buy cannot heal him. In desperation he hires the world's most dreaded sorcerer to save his life, but now he fears the evil mage has played him for a fool. Behind closed doors dissenting nobles plot the king's demise. His only hope lies in a strange woman, hailed by the southern lands as a goddess, but whose lineage is steeped in a lust for human blood, and in a savage warrior whom he has already sentenced to death.

His wealth is limitless, his power unrivaled, as is his reputation for satisfying the worlds most beautiful women. Now his life hangs by a thread. The greatest doctors cannot cure him, and in desperation, he seeks out the services of a dreaded mage adept in the Black Arts, but it seems the evil wizard has plans of his own, none of which bode well for the king. Behind closed doors dissenting nobles plot the kings demise. His only hope lies in a strange woman, whom many hail as a goddess, but whose lineage is steeped in lust for human blood; and in a savage young warrior who the king has already sentenced to death.
