This book is made up of a number of short stories, 13 to be exact. I started thinking to myself, why have them if I am not going to share them. Whether they are any good or not is not the point. The point is, I wrote them and they are of my own creation good, bad, or indifferent. What I really hope is that as you read them, and when you read them, they will bring to you a small touch of enjoyment, curiosity, or intrigue as to what kind of a mind can think up things such as this.

This is a story of a man with an odd name and an even odder job. He is a trouble shooter and is name is Dingle Dorf. Yeah, that's right Dingle Dorf. He is a specialist in trouble shooting industrial problems. The kind of problems are not the normal ones like production issues or safety issues or transportation issues. No, the issues he deals with are personnel issues, the kind that involve violence and the need for a professional who can deal with the issues a company may be facing. In this case it was two families who owned a shipping company together. The problem being, both families were old mob or organized crime families.Our hero was called in to deal with the internal issues of these old crime-based families and an attempt coming from someone some group trying to muscle in on their game and in the process were making life difficult and questionable as to whether the family members would survive what was going on. Our trouble shooter has one issue, he never loses and he will do anything to overcome.

Every Year Phil Morles would take his annual vacation in southern California, on the beaches. He loves it down there. Not to live, but just to visit for three to four weeks each summer. Yeah, it may sound boring to you, but for a geek like him, he loved it. If it was not for the fact that he drove there each year, he would have never met Jewell Scarpone. In addition, he would have never ended up running for his life three quarters of the way across this country. It was a mind dulling experience and a life altering process. For one who had never killed anyone let alone held a gun, this experience would be both a blessing and a burden. it was just a simple rest stop in the northern part of Cowlitz County, Washington. Phil was southbound on Interstate 5 and needed to use the facilities. How many people do that every day, year around, all over this country? It was just his luck to do it in the one place where Jewell Scarpone happened to be waiting for a ride. What Phil did not know was that when he first met Jewell, the game had been playing for a number of weeks, had started in Chicago and had worked its way all the way out here to Washington State. That game would put the whole mob out hunting for Jewell, and now Phil, in retribution for the death of the son of a mob boss back in Chicago. It turned out to have been Jewell's best friend and the boss was his friend's dad. You know a family thing. Just being with Jewell marked Phil for death, he had done nothing to deserve it, just being with Jewell was enough. What started out as a dream vacation had turned into a nightmare, and Phil had no idea how it would come out. Once into it he had no choice but to join in with Jewell and fight for his life, as best as he could under the circumstances. Join Phil and Jewell as they fight their way across the country to find and confront the one man that held their lives in his hands. Their purpose was to take the battle to that man and take the final step that would clear them of the revenge he was looking for.

It started out as a simple dig, looking for what I thought was a tunneling machine, only to discover we were right on top of an alien outpost. Did I also mention we were noncombatants? That's right. No military within five hundred miles and they hit us with a nuclear bomb. Me? I'm just a guy who was asked to take part in the dig and to supervise and oversee the actual process of digging out this monster machine. Just bare the machine so the experts can get to it and figure out what it is and why it's there. That's it. And, all hell busts loose. My name is Joe Nash. I ended up here simply because I'm an expert in engineering and they needed me to expose the machine they were trying to get to. So, I find myself deep in the Brazilian forests at the eastern side of the old Guiana Mountain foothills, running a dig that would eventually bring the whole of the world to the edge of total war. Oh, did I mention they set a nuclear bomb off at our dig site? Come on people, it's just a stupid archeological dig and nothing more and you hit us with a nuclear bomb. Follow Joe and his fellow team as they deal with the unknown and the death of some of their personnel by the cubes. A machine that controls the outpost and protects it from anything that attempts a forced take over of the outpost. Their mean things that can kill you in an instant.

It all started when he found himself standing on a street corner in a strange town all by himself. In fact, he was so by himself there was no one else anywhere he looked. The place was abandoned yet it looked brand new.That's how it started for this man, and it would; it would continue to become more of a mystery as he tried to determine what was going on and how he got to where he was at. That started a chain of event which would bring this man to the edge of sanity and in the process introduce him to what he really was. From then on it would be a fight to find out what was going on, who was doing it, and why was in involved.People were going to die, people had already died, and other people were going to pay for it. As he came to understand what was happening to him, he would come to understand who and how they had done this to him. What they didn't know is that they also jump stared and gene within his system that would bring about the introduction of the latest Thaumaturge to come into his place on the world at this time. Mark Shelton would come into his own in the next few days and weeks and as he did the world would learn of those who were working to take control of their nation and replace its government.

It had been a hard week for me. The job had been particularly difficult and when you're trying to satisfy every person that has an interest in what you're doing, you simply can't make them all happy. With the week behind me, I was looking forward to the weekend off. I left the office at the end of the day and headed home for a weekend of hiding. All i had to do was get home, just three point four miles and I pull into the garage and close the door and hide for the weekend. Yeah, I wish. As I drove down Walnut Street, I was approaching the last traffic light between me and home. The light just turned red, and I came to a stop. I looked for cross traffic and nothing was there, and the light was just getting ready to change when they came. When I say, they came; I mean, they came. This would be the beginning of the end of Killegan Verdander's life. What he would witness at that moment would change everything. The whole of the world would take a turn and go in an entirely different direction. Killegan would be takne down a different path than what he was used to and it would mean he no longer controlled his destiny.

Duker's Store is a book of short stories. There is a total of 11 stories, all addressing the adventures or misadventures of an individual that has been to Duker's Store at one time or other in the past, present or future. The primary character finds himself having been selected to inherit the store after the current owner and operator retires. It's a love hate relationship that develops and eventually becomes permanent. The remaining ten shorts are a combination of fun, imagination, and totally out of left field. It was fun to write them and hopefully is just as much fun to read them.

Neal Burns was your regular type guy. He ran his own business and enjoyed every aspect of his life related to that business. That is until he returned to his business one evening and found his whole world changed. The change would bring back his past and with it a fight for survival that only one person had a chance of surviving. You see, Neal was not your ordinary regular type guy, he was something else; something his employees never thought possible, something his enemies hadn't thought possible. Alexander 6 is a Captain in command of a Quick Strike Unit of the Starfield Force Unit 943rd. The Starfield Force has been deployed into a frontier region of the Starfield United System where an alien force has landed on a remote planet and set up a base of occupation. The 943rd is to remove the aliens and their base from the planet. Alexander 6 is assigned a mission to rescue a down pilot in a region out and away from the base where the 943rd landed and took over the alien complex. This would be the beginning of Alexander's fight to survive. After having almost his entire command wiped out Alexander takes the remnants of his Strike Unit and starts to build a new world. Follow the Strike unit as it discovers and deals with the life forms that are present and controlling this new world he has found himself in. Move with him as he works to unravel the mystery of this new world and all the dangers that sit waiting for him and his Unit. Learn as he learns just what it was that he has landed in and where this new world actually is and what it's past is all about. The fight to survive is continuous and only the wisdom of a sage and the brutality of a conqueror can deal with what they discover and the many threats that they must overcome in order to achieve the final destiny of Alexander 6. Watch as he goes from a Unit leader to a world conqueror and becomes known as Alexander the Great.

In the world of law enforcement it is accepted that strange and unique things happen. Just about anything one could imagine is possible when it comes to people. Through his experience they would find the means of dealing with this murder case

Which had been taken captive by the Quallintel Empire, she receives a package. This package, as innocent as it appeared, would be the start of a battle the likes of which she had never experienced.Follow River, her ship Space Wasp and her crew as they deal with the impact of this strange and beautiful gift and its impact on all the Empires that hear of it or come in contact with it. She would be kicked out of the Shadainian Empire, hunted by the United Earth System and aggressively stalked by every other Empire in their region of the galaxy.River would learn of the secret of the Scepter only to have to send it away or watch the galaxy come under its control and ultimate destruction. She would face her own temptations and desires for the Scepter. A weapon that would give her control of the entire galaxy if not the universe.

River and her crew are back again, only this time it is big. This time River will find herself faced with a situation that will put her in the power seat across the whole of the Shadainian and United Earth Empires. She will become a citizen of both empires and when that happens, she will inherit the estate of one Regent Asplum. This will open a mission for the Regent Asplum, his last request, and the finding of the history of both the United Earth and the Shadainian Empires. A past that will change everything for River and put her in a position she never thought possilble. She would become the nemesis of some and the savior of others. The history of times past will move in on the present and with that will come a puzzle none would have ever expected or anticipated

Leslie Bradshaw was a recluse, a self-imposed hermit living right there in the middle of his hometown. He had a job and worked it forty hours a week. Beyond that he didn't have anything but a few relationships with the guys he bowled with. His most important interest was his garden and that was. it. The neighbors knew little to nothing about him and they seldom saw him except when he was peddling off to work or downtown to shop or go bowling once a week. Beyond d that he never came out front and he never talked across the fence to anyone. What would happen to Leslie would be something that only happens in a bad dream to bad people, in bad places. Yet, it happened to him. The strangest of events which was followed by the strangest of trips any human had ever taken. What Leslie had gone through and what the investigators found in his home, after the fire. It would bring about a new understanding of the types of forces out there among the stars. Forces that were a hazard to Planet Earth.
