Drawn from Hong Kong International Poetry Nights 2011, Winds Howl Through the Mansions is a chapbook of poetry by Bejan Matur, accompanied by English and Chinese translations. Winds Howl Through the Mansions is also available along with the works of other internationally renowned poets in Words and the World (Twenty-volume Set). Selected poems from this volume are featured in the anthology Words and the World: International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong

This collection covers the broad vision of mankind's history with a story of an individual journey, in the course of which the poet explores the cosmic and the microcosm, the immensities of Time and Space, of becoming and Being. The poems came during a pilgrimage in south-western Anatolia.

Bejan Matur comes from a Kurdish Alevi family and grew up in South-eastern Turkey at a time of virtual civil war. Her poetry draws not only on her own experiences but also on the oral traditions of her childhood, though these are not autobiographical works.
