Book Nine of the Dark Corps Adventure! After getting new upgrades and leaving the desert, Timmy Barnes and Bear Company set off to find their friend Anna, who has been kidnapped by the Dark. They follow some strange animal behavior to a dense jungle, where they meet the members of the Jungle Brigade. There's something oddly familiar to Timmy about the jungle beasts-their personalities closely resemble a certain company of bears-but the two groups don't seem to like each other very much.Frustrated by their constant arguing, Timmy sets off on his own to find Anna. But that may not be such a great idea, since a Dark spider lurks nearby, looking to catch some flies in her web.Will Bear Company and Jungle Brigade learn to work together? Timmy Barnes, his best friend Anna, and the five members of Bear Company have reached their toughest challenge yet. Before them lies a tall and treacherous mountain that they must cross over if they ever hope to get to Timmy's father and free him from his underground prison. Though it seems impossible, they have help in the form of the Alpine Rangers, a special unit of the Dark Corps made specifically for mountain-climbing. Even so, it's no easy feat, and it's made all the worse by fighting and arguments amongst the group of what they should do next. If they're not careful, they may not make it over the mountain-especially since a bizarre and unnatural force called the Whispering Wind stalks the peaks, waiting for climbers to scale the cliffs so it can tear them down into the darkness.

Timmy Barnes and his five armored friends of Bear Company have certainly been in some strange and dangerous situations, but none quite as strange and dangerous as this one.Together with General Leo and the rest of Corps Command, Timmy and the bears find themselves sitting on top of a huge force of the Dark for an entire day while the shadowy creatures hide in the basement and wait for night to come. If that wasn't bad enough, among them is Total Dark, the leader and most powerful of all the Dark. And if that wasn't bad enough, the Dark are holding Timmy's best friend Anna hostage in the basement. General Leo, however, has a plan to call in the four big, brutish members of Armor Division.Together with Bear Company and Corps Command, they'll form a strategy to win this battle and take out the Dark's leader. But Total Dark has plans of his own, and the cunning shadow has several tricks up his sleeve to get Timmy once and for all.

Ever since the beginning, Timmy Barnes has had the protection of his five armored guardians, Bear Company, to help him on his journey. But now, as he and his friend Anna head down a dark river, they have only two of the bears with them. After being separated in a dense fog, Timmy had the difficult decision of leaving without Mother, Blue, and Bruiser.The River Patrol, a collection of aquatic animals, is there to help them along, but a powerful Dark is hot on their trail. At the same time, the other bears have not yet given up on their chances of finding Timmy again as they race towards his location, even though catching up will be very difficult. Luckily, they're protected by Bear Company, five stuffed bears turned armored guardians, to help them find their way to the river and the next stage of their journey to reunite Timmy with his father. But as night approaches, a thick dark fog covers the entire forest. The bears and the children get separated and are unable to find each other again. The Forest Guard, a unit of woodland creatures, comes to their aid, but the Dark responsible for the fog is very clever and finds ways to keep them apart. As if that's not bad enough, Timmy's former nanny is hot on his trail, determined to finally find him. The Forest Guard is sure that if they can get to the river, they can help Timmy escape to safety… but not everyone might make it that far.

Ten-year-old Timmy Barnes, his friend Anna, and Bear Company, five armored guardians disguised as stuffed bears, travel out of the city and into the countryside to rendezvous with Timmy's father, a famous scientist who opened a portal to another dimension. With the help of the Homestead Defense Force, a group of rugged barnyard stuffed animals, they will have to spend the night defending a creepy barn against a swarm of the Dark, led by not one, but two powerful shadows that want to snatch Timmy away from the bears.
