PRIZE OF WITCHESTwists, turns, and tales, were recently uncovered from the archives in Akoko-Edo. There, the young adult life of Peyibomi, is the prize in a game of three Igarra witches.Sheika hurts her, Sheire soothes her, and Sheiregun must be paid from her gains.Since her mother died, Peyibomi lived with Tewetegbo, her disabled father, in the beautiful rocky terrains surrounded by Kukuruku hills, yet there's more anguish, pains, and murders. This is not likely to end well unless for providential intervention. Is she destined or fated?
SOUSED IN VINTAGE.In rural southwest England, a rich, middle-aged, landlord and family man seduced Ruthie. She is a young, impetuous, curly, redhaired virgin. It appeared for a different reason of pleasure but now, she is pregnant. The dynamics of their affair has undoubtedly changed. How Ruthie Bewty deals with this and how it all ends, may depend on five things she learned from her veteran father, Phillip Roskruge, before he died.
HALO AROUND THE MOON.Winter, 1998, Dr Stefan Tindan Esfuerzo contemplates ending it all. He doubts if he has what it takes, a decade after his one-hit-wonder book crammed the U.S retail shelves.During their breakup, Nurse Monica, his Igbo-Nigerian ex-wife, put it rather plainly. Later, she dumped him for someone else who could help push him out of his job.He has since turned the joke of peers, wondering what is the point teaching romance when your love life is in the dumps or living when you no longer have a story to tell? He is broken over his junkie brother, Roberto, for he can do nothing to help the Army veteran. Frank, his Italian sidekick, a butcher, hopeless romantic, is somewhat insensitive to other pressures but is loyally asking him to love again, anywhere. The final nail in the coffin came when his mother, mentor, and only real succor passed away. It appears shame gilds the sky of his hope. Where ends the career of a once-upon-a-time bestseller or would there be a halo around the moon?
Cloud of Purloined Soul.In this shortstory told by Aiyeko-ooto. Cash Onadele asks, "The moon is high, it is red and sits against a dark sky, is there an omen there?"More than anything else on this whole earth, Enitan wished to be a writer. But his parents and hand of fate took him in other directions. East and West of the Atlantic, this young man forged several relationships with women during his pilgrimage to survive. One wonders if these reflections are enough for his debut piece. Especially, when he realizes how the eclipse of a strange curse of long ago might cloud the women he attracts.
Cash Onadele (Aiyeko-ooto) tells a social sardonic and emotional tale. It is colloquially explained away, but it is, in truth, contentious. You may grab your handkerchiefs and take a seat. Brungdee Heartaway is a dreamy wannabee. She is desperate for a better life for her fatherless son and herself. But to get out of this ghetto, she must win three rounds of national contests. In addition, she must beat the attacks of her own mind, rattlesnakes, and broken reeds; she calls neighbors, friends and family. Now, she must prepare, fight and win, a slim but special opportunity, opened by an ivy league university. How does she turn disadvantages of her handicap, venoms of rattlers, and dysfunctional family protests to support?
PUDDLE IN THE WAYWhere there's murder, mystery and mayhem forming puddles in the way of a man with a quest, we are bound to find a spellbinding story! When war broke out in Vietnam in the 1950's, an Intelligence Naval Captain recommended to his President. that United States should join that war For his intelligence and bravery in the line of duty he was awarded a medal of honor and promoted. No one could predict the war's influence in the life and career of an unborn investigative writer, his own son.Neither could they forecast, that it might bring the end to the practice of Dr T.S King, four decades later. The juxtaposition in the lives of these two men is the silly mesh of relations created by many others, who were equally unaware of their victory or tragedy.Life itself could demand an endless chivvy to walkthrough and prove yourself. Especially if your father was the Presidential Medal Award winner and retired Rear Admiral Julius Exodus McCain Sr.Would the son's life and those of his lovers become more complicated if he enjoyed a large sum as a gift from a medical doctor, who was later found to be involved in espionage?"There is one glory for the sun, one for the moon, and another glory of the stars; each star different from other stars in glory".
Scarlet's Inescapable GraveIn this fictional piece by Cash Onadele (Aiyeko-ooto), set in Lagos, Nigeria, and Savannah, Georgia, we find a hardly comedic but spicy take on the careful reach from the grave of a likeable, but repeatedly cheated, man and father. Let's face it, spousal deception is real. But like everything else in life, we all need to find a way to laugh about it, some time. Surprisingly, love can become an inescapable grave!
In this fictional piece by Cash Onadele (Aiyeko-ooto), we find that in the rain forests, among Yoruba people, they have a saying - "aajo ju owo loo" (care is greater than money). There, politics kept them in darkness, centuries behind the clock of modern times. Strangely, it was there that Mojisola was planted, in a career that took her to their homes and hearts. A decade ago, she lost her first chance at love and motherhood. Now, the pandemic struck, a global lockdown was imposed. She managed the Pandemic Isolation Center and had to make a crucial life and death decision. Does this lead to depression, death or a new path to love? What do we learn of power, corruption, love, death and morality in this short story?
In this short story, Cash Onadele is the raconteur. He brings a most unusual tale. There are three continents, one man, and a dream. His quest was to find his true-life partner, will he? What if unknown to him, there are others around him, dealing wild cards from the bottom of the deck? He is about to be confronted with who he really is and what awaits, when he takes to the road on life's journey. Is he an eagle or an ewe?
INSIDE: TROUBLES BLOW.No man is perfect, agreed. But P.I Vernon Majaro was not even close. He was a flawed Marine veteran in more ways than one. The one that affected him most was his weakness for women. He did not distriminate much. Wantonness was pleasure, passion and pain all rolled into one. His unquenched thirst and recklessness had brought him trouble more times than he could count.Winds of misfortune lately, blew him and his detective craft to a small city of Slidell, Louisiana, in the south. Unfortunately, adding drinking and gambling to his list of sapping vices could only send his life spiraling in one direction, down!He considered ending it all, when his past came knocking. Whether he should answer that door or not was not a matter of choice. It was a necessity. What awaited him on the other side would be unsurmountable choices, battles and challenges. Overcoming such require the discipline of a transformed man. Can he make it?I, the writer of his story, doubt it.All he had was Angelina, one 33-year-old Vietnamese woman, he was training to be a detective. She esteemed his quiddity and believed in his innocence. This was like wishing on a rainbow and a star! How often do dreams, rainbows and stars share the same space in the cloud of troubles?
THE CHICAGO MUTE BRIEFWhen we meet a person, what do we see? Do we see their character or color of skin? When we are told someone was reported for an offence, do we hear that they are guilty or not guilty? What we see and what we hear are tested when two attorneys, formerly dating lovers, were asked to examine the truth in this Chicago Mute Brief.Jude Lawrence Fishbone was a private attorney of African American origin who had dated, for five years until this case, a successful Prosecution Attorney in the District Attorney's office, Deputy District Attorney Lauren Martinez, herself of Latina Mexican-American extraction. There is a case of murder to be tried before, no other than, Justice John Thomas Marshall, a fifth-generation descent of the fourth Chief Justice of USA. He prided himself as a man of blind justice and a beacon of freedom in a world troubled by shadows. The accused is a deaf and dumb, white, blonde woman. The victim was a, twice commended, ranking officer of the Chicago Police Department. This incident occurred in November 2016. Is this deaf and dumb white woman caught with the murder weapon and accused of murder in the first degree guilty or not guilty? We must be crystal clear! This case will test our conscience, truths, beliefs, hearts and subconscious bias or prejudices. You are welcome to Chicago. It is windy, cold, temperamental and often unpredictable. Does the weather speak for the people or the people for every weather?
THE CRYSTAL OF PROPHECYWhen you meet the person, who becomes your spouse because your train was late that day, this is a serendipitous event. But that was neither the case for the Engineer, Al Afonja, nor his spouse-to-be.There was a prophecy spoken by three mystic women about Al's union, a future which must come to pass.In the labyrinth of romances and existential passions, Al formed, normed, performed and transformed. Now, who does Al choose or who chooses Al?After all, you cannot have them all. You win some and you lose some. That, until now, appears to be the story of humanity. Could there be a reason for anyone to think twice about this truism? From another plane or context, could he look at love differently? He must be crystal clear!
INSIDE COVER: BLOOD RIBBONED COVENANTPhilosophically, ribbons are long or narrow strips which stretch the length of our time on earth. Often, these threads mark beginnings or ends in our relationships. The beginnings are fashioned by the promises we make and the ends on how we fulfill them. Some start relationships amid laughter and others with tears. Yet, each draws a line between one's self-centered past and the giving of one's self, in hope that light shines through our flesh and bones elegantly. Even if, later, we face flutters and flickers in our destinies.During life, our faces are alive with promises richly sustained by returned promises of others. This is the birthplace of our covenants.Such was a covenant forged by James Harold "Rudy" Blanco and Anne Maria Shephard. A naïve bond of love which was severely tested.Theirs were ties appearing to endure a lifetime, no matter how flailed in the fire of fate. Somewhere along the line, fate forced upon Anne Maria a decision to marry the ambitious attorney who later emerged the Mayor of New York.James could have walked away and pretended to forget Maria, but he did not.In a big metropolitan city such as New York, powers lurk behind all misdeeds, mayhem, and murders. Two, career minded, warring women played a great part in this!James was a knife thrower who fitted the profile of a murderer. The powers that be promised to deliver swift justice on the accused until Hercules offered to save his tarot-gypsy-mother from crying over her son's innocent and lifeless grave.Hercules Johnson, himself, was a disgraced protagonist with problems of his own. Does he stand a chance against the trusted, four-term Mayor or those powerful people financing his campaigns? What happens to the love of two lives and everyone connected to them? What if we added powerplays by two competing visceral women? We know, where there are covenants, there are blood sacrifices!Would their pains pass in the end? Would there be a better future for Rudy and Maria if they hold on to love or power and did not cut the ribbon?Let us trace the vicious splatter and viscous threads in Blood Ribboned Covenant!

This is situation, Al Afonja found himself at 29, a foreign student in London, England, trying very hard to figure out his future, people around him, and his career.Maybe the wheel of life is a time chain of events and emotions furtive with affections, hates, guilts, beliefs, and indifferences. His wavering mind may be the object in the locket of another woman. There is also a prophecy which must be fulfilled. Are they equally trying to save his lost heart in some stranger ways!In this volume of the short stories, there is a fiddle on the skeletons of the mind. WILD SPARKLING BLUE MARBLEIn relationships, a man's appetite is multitudinous and complex. Each comes from an opportunity he is presented by different women and the ideals he sets for himself. Al was a doctoral fellow in pneumatic engineering on the cusp of an industrial breakthrough prototypes that are nearly, but not quite, there. He nursed hope for a seemingly unavailable nurse neighbor. Received physical treatment from another woman physician. His prototypes were funded by yet another, but at this point, he is in love with a woman he called Blue Marble. He described her attributes as beautiful, brainy, brassy, bold and busty. Would he be able to love his sparkling Blue Marble without interruption of these other women?Something must give. What gives?
Snaggles & Giggles is an oxymoron. How come we have two opposites in this effect? Snaggles are tangled mess, knotted yarn threads, painful to trace. While giggles are comedy, drama and satire bundled together to relax and make laughter. Aiyeko-ooto picked this contradiction because that is what the Nobel laureate inspires. This anthology is dedicated to Professor Toni Morrison. In particular, Aiyeko-ooto examines answers to five human questions.First, what we evolve within- inner thoughts?Second, what stirs our brews - struggles and battles?Third, what we evolve without, - our natural environment?Fourth, what we embrace -laughter and errors? Finally, what we hold dearly -love and passion? These answers are found in five moods, in this collection of 50 poems. I hope you enjoy reading them in this anthology.
SHAFTS OF ARROWS PIERCE WITS.Cash Onadele "Aiyeko-ooto" has mastered the art of fictional drama. It shows in the characters and tales of the Yoruba ancient cultures and traditions depicted in this trilogy. In "Blood and Arrows of Wits" part 1: he pulled on every human emotion to captivate our thoughts. This imaginative story telling left no stones unturned. Weaving the ways of mortals and the acts of gods to make magical, yet, believable! In this part 2: Shafts of Arrows Pierce Wits: again, we are translocated back to the deep jungles of forests of sub-sahara, Africa. Where the characters bring to life ordinary ways of men living centuries ago. What keeps their lives turning up as strange super ordinary events? There was hate, discord, ambition, greed and love. No more than we see in present day. However, if their powerful gods and goddesses weren't mixed in their mortal affairs, ghosts were.If you think politics and social change are modern sciences, you are in for a surprise of their practiced arts almost perfected in the struggle for reign. This combined with their sense of traditional governance and values become necessary tools to defend against attacks of foreign colonists under clouds of transforming culture.Even today, as long as there are rulers and the ruled, agitators of a few disgruntled natives have a crack to peddle the bought influence of foreign imperialists. We shall meet again in final part of this fictional drama trilogy!
ARROWHEAD MARK SPOTS OF WITS: TAKING ON THE DRAGON.It is one thing to prepare for war. It is a different experience to fight the war. This we shall find out in this concluding story of freedom. It might have appeared that you were reading through a plot of thrones, but this concluding part exposes the true reason we had to follow the throne. The story is not only about the game people play or their questionable attitudes or even wars fought. It might at times even appear to be about the frailties of Yoruba culture and beliefs. It could also ask, why not to trust another person? This story traces roots and generations to present the proof of failure to respect sovereignties while the invaders fight under a banner.I would like it to answers the question, "why do you need what belongs to someone else, if you don't wish somebody to take away what you have?"I hope that I have done so with wits, entertainment and accented it with a nice plot.If you've read "Blood and Arrows of Wits", "Shafts of Arrows Pierce Wits", "Arrowheads Mark Spots of Wits: Making of a King" Then follow me to "Arrowheads Mark Spots of Wits: Taking on the Dragon."Find out what ends the final part of this trilogy.
This collection of poems has waited four centuries to be composed. Aiyeko-ooto unveils open secrets of the races. Many issues buried in the tombs have been unearthed. This makes everyone uncomfortable but with nascent pandemic, it has come to be dealt with! It is fated in evils and ills committed by transgressors, who put ships on open seas to discover peaceful natives on the other side of the Atlantic. Their exchange started friendly and commercial as batter before it graduated into speedy conquests. Impositions to sell natives into bondages on the return ships to West Europe and onwards to Americas' plantations. Humans became chattels and were sold on auction blocks. Trusts were betrayed, agreements broken, and sovereignty scattered. Aiyeko-ooto in 50 poems explore 5 moods: Pains, Fears, Uncertainty Turmoil, and Tragedy. It is time to sail across centuries of black pain, hardship and injustices.
