Child malnutrition is a major public health problem in the world and especially in developing countries. It requires a very particular attention of the persons in charge for its complete eradication.In order to achieve the assigned objectives, we resorted to a descriptive cross-sectional study, conducted from October 22 to November 22, 2022. The study population consisted of parents of children under 5 years of age found in households that had suffered from malnutrition in the Katshisungu health area. Results At the end of this study, we found that: 13% showed that their children between 6 and 59 months of age had suffered from malnutrition; the most represented group was the one between [27-31] with 110 subjects, i.e. 26.8%. The majority of the parents interviewed, 77.8% were married; we found that 63.1% of the parents indicated anemia as the major complication of malnutrition in children. Whereas, 2 subjects or 3.5% reported other complications such as: death of the child. ConclusionMalnutrition has consequences on the health of the child. However, it can be avoided
