Andy Warhol is one of the most beloved and inquired about artist/celebrity.These are never-before-seen photographs from a little- known time in Andy Warhol's life: his early days in NYC as a model.Christopher Makos, a friend and confidant of Andy Warhol's, is himself a luminary photographer.His art has been exhibited at The Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao, The Tate Modern, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and The Brooklyn Museum. His work is in the permanent collections of The IVAM, The Reina Sofia Museum, and the National Portrait Gallery. Makos is the author of numerous books, including Warhol/Makos In Context (2007), Andy Warhol China 1982 (2007), Christopher Makos Polaroids (2009) and Everything: The Black and White Monograph (2014). Foreword writer David Fahey is the owner of the Fahey/Klein gallery, probably the most important photography gallery in the world. He was a contributing West Coast editor of Andy Warhol's Interview magazine. He is an active member of the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) and served on the Photography Advisory Council for the J. Paul Getty Museum. Additionally he serves as an advisor to The Herb Ritts FoundationPreface writer Peter Wise's work is found in various public and private collections, including Mead Art Gallery, Amherst College, Estee Lauder Corporate Collection, and The Andy Warhol Museum. Wise and Christopher Makos founded the Makos Archive; he has served as its Director since 2000.Ryan Murphy currently working on an Andy Warhol documentary set to release on Netflix in Fall 2022. Christopher Makos is the principle consultant for the film and elements of the book will be shown throughout the film.Travelling exhibition mounted by David Fahey and featuring artwork from the book launches in mid-2022.
