Many of the pages don't feature backgrounds because this is a basic coloring book for kids, however we decided to feature more backgrounds, fish and other ocean trinkets on some of the new pages. You can get an idea of what some of the images look like in this book by looking on the back cover and exploring the "Look Inside" feature. Explore the magical underwater world of mermaids and their ocean friends. This coloring book was designed for children, but many grown-ups are sure to like the designs as well. As you turn the pages you'll see ocean treasures, underwater castles, whales, fish friends and beautiful mermaids with dolphins and other sea creatures. Many of the designs are centered on the page or located near the bottom. Some designs feature ocean scenes in the background, but the majority of the designs only feature one or two main characters on the page. There is plenty of room for doodles and additional drawing. We encourage kids to draw their own ocean scene around the mermaid or they can keep this area blank and just focus on coloring their favorite mermaids. The images become more advanced towards the end of the book. This book makes a great keepsake for a child who loves mermaids or the ocean. This adorable fairies coloring book was originally designed for young children ages 3 to 7, however we've found that many adults enjoy coloring the pages in this book with their children. The designs are basic and easy to color. Each page features a cheerful fairy, with a blank background. Kids are encouraged to draw trees, flowers and plants or anything else they like around the fairies. Some of the fairies are more elf-like while others have butterfly shaped wings and cute chubby faces. You'll find a variety of different fairies in this book, but each design is easy to color. Please Note: This book is intended for crayons or colored pencils because markers can still bleed through the page. The pages are now single sided, so you can use markers if you like, but we recommend putting a thick piece of paper behind the fairy that you want to color with markers. **PLEASE NOTE** There are two versions of this fairy coloring book. Volume #1 has a slightly different coloring scheme than Volume #2. The first version is printed on standard white paper and the second version is printed on slightly thicker cream-colored paper.: )
