Every child of a holy God has unique gifts and talents. These gifts are to be used to help the Body of Christ grow into maturity. This book, The Awakening and the Calling of the Holy Spirit, is the Lord's voice for all who are seeking a closer walk with Yahweh, a faithful, loving Father. As we listen, obey, and yield to that still, small voice, we become more like our Savior, Jesus. Allow the Holy Spirit to impart wisdom, knowledge, and sometimes correction. Each of these poems, illustrations, and lessons was written and designed under the direction and inspiration of a righteous God. My prayer for those who read this book is that the Lord would give each child of the King ears to hear and a heart to understand what the Spirit is speaking today! Creating a book was never a goal of mine, but the Holy Spirit had a different plan for me. Not only did He ask me to write this book; but also gave me the title and the illustrator He had chosen. Over the years I have learned to recognize the Spirit's voice and have written His words in poetic form. However, lately His voice has changed in intensity and in warnings. In my first book, My Journey with the Lord, the Spirit revealed His character and His heart. Just recently in a church service, I heard the Spirit say that my first book was written in preparation for a greater work. In Luke 12:48 the Word states, "For him who has been given much, much will be demanded." (Complete Jewish Bible). Allow the Spirit to speak to you and draw you into a deeper revelation of the eternal Yahweh!

As a young child, I always felt the Lord's hand gently guiding and directing each step in my quest for truth. As I grew, married, and had a family, the Lord began to enlighten my spirit with His character and His desires not only for me but also for His children. In my quiet times, the Holy Spirit would flood my mind with words. As I wrote what the Spirit declared, I was amazed and humbled. How could this handmaiden of the Lord hear that still small voice with such profound wisdom? Insight into the character of a Holy God began to permeate my spirit. Many times an entire prophetic poem would be completed in a few minutes. Others were deposited a few words at a time. Over the last two years, I've noticed a change in the intensity of the Lord's voice. He is calling His children to new levels of holiness, obedience, and love. My prayer for each one who journeys with me through this book is that these poems will touch your heart and illuminate your understanding of the Greatness of a Father's love for you - His child. "For the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26 Darla Colombo, a retired school teacher, has three children and seven grandchildren. She is actively involved in Covenant Church, which is located in Fairmont, WV.
