Hortus Elginensis is a book written by David Hosack in 1811. The book is a comprehensive catalogue of plants, both indigenous and exotic, that were cultivated in the Elgin Botanic Garden, located in the vicinity of the city of New York. The Elgin Botanic Garden was established by Hosack himself, who was a physician and botanist. The book contains detailed descriptions of the plants, their characteristics, and their uses.
