By divine design, God expects every one of his children to end up serving him by using their God-given potentials. The problem with this is that many believers lack the proper training and equipping necessary to render quality (or reasonable) service to God. We must realize that not every service attracts a reward from the Lord (Rom. 12:1). There is a "how to serve God." It is not just enough to know "what" you desire to do or "why" you desire to do it; until you know "how" to do it, then no quality work will be done. Gehazi rendered "unreasonable" service and received leprosy instead of a mantle from his mentor! The burden of many Pastors and ministry leaders would be reduced somewhat if only they had a competent, well trained, spiritually furnished, and of course, a faithful, loyal work force. Many ministry leaders are stressed and burnt out; many are being betrayed, maligned, slandered, andjust generally stabbed in the back by supposed followers and proteges. The problem here seems to be that there is a lack of clarity or understanding of the things expected of the protégé, and of course the mentors too. This therefore leaves room for a lot of chaos and confusion in the household of God.The Lord has so ordained that at various times, God-given mentors will enter and exit our lives. God would normally place someone who has submitted to him in discipleship under one of His servants as a human 'discipler', coach or mentor. During this period, the disciple will be taught in different ways while God sits down to watch keenly your progress under your earthly 'discipler'. This he uses as a yardstick to evaluate you, to see whether you are qualified to hold trust for Him.A mentor can be the difference between poverty and prosperity, decrease and increase, loss and gain, pain and pleasure, deterioration, and restoration. This book will take you, the reader, beyond the shallow waters, and beyond the letter of the word; it will launch you into the Spirit behind the word. It will reveal to you the intent, the integrity and immutability of the Word of God when it comes to biblical mentoring, and armor-bearing.Get ready! Get ready!! Get ready!!!APOSTLE (DR.) DAYO BROWN.
The Holy Ghost is the Author of the Scriptures; therefore, when we have any questions or confusions regarding the Word of God, we cannot really ask the 'writer' what he meant when he wrote what he wrote. Rather, our questions must be directed at the One who "moved" or inspired the writer to write what he wrote.Only the Holy Ghost knows the 'intent' behind the written word. He had something in mind every time he moved the saints of old to write. Again, when we need clarification on what was in God's mind when he said what he said, we must go back to inquire from the Spirit of God.Jesus declared that the words he spoke were both "Spirit" and "life." (John 6:63). The Scriptures further declare that the "letter" killeth, but the ''Spirit" giveth life (2 Cor. 3:6).Every time the Word goes forth, it is always backed up by breath or Spirit (Gen. 1:2-3). Behind every Word, there is always breath (ruach in the Hebrew language; which translates to mean wind, spirit, or breath). As serious-minded Bible students therefore, we must always go beyond the mere written words on the pages of the Bible, to inquire from the Lord for both the intent, and the Spirit behind every written Word. This is how to get the most out of the Scriptures. This training manual will take you, the reader, beyond the shallow waters, and beyond the letter of the word; it will launch you into the Spirit behind the word, the intent, the integrity and immutability of the Word of God.Get ready! For a very long time in the history of Western civilization, persons of African descent have been portrayed in negative ways; and this has led them not only to question their own identity but also their part in God's plan of salvation. Many have lost every sense of self-worth because of the stereotype presentation of the Black man. However, the impressive volumes of historical facts and theological reappraisals of ancient biblical traditions which have become available over the years attest to the fact that Africa, her people, nations, and cultures must be acknowledged as making significant and direct contributions to the development of Christianity, and indeed the world. My purpose in this book is to focus on Scriptures as it relates specifically to persons of African descent and by so doing, foster the truth of multiculturalism which is inherent in the Holy Bible. God is not a racist; neither is my treatise presented from a racial point of view; rather, an interpretation of the Scriptures based on racial pluralism and inclusiveness will be demonstrated in this teaching. Simple facts as presented in the Bible, supported by historical evidence, and sound logic and reasoning form the basis of my thesis. In this book, three major questions will be answered:1. Is the Black man really cursed as some claim?2. Has God ever had any use of the Black man?3. What is the place of the Black man in God's end-time agenda? It is also my aim to expose readers of this book to truthful biblical facts, and hopefully to enhance the thinking of Black people about themselves in world history.
By divine design, God expects every one of his children to end up working for him and serving him by using their God-given potentials. The problem with this is that many of the brethren lack the proper training and equipping necessary to render quality (or reasonable) service to God. The burden of many Pastors and ministry leaders would be reduced somewhat if only they had a competent, well trained, and spiritually furnished work force. By the leading of the Holy Spirit, I have over a period of more than 30 years developed this quality Leadership Training Manual for Church and Ministry workers. I have been blessed and privileged to have conducted several Training Seminars and Workshops for leaders in hundreds of churches across the USA, Europe, Africa, and Asia. The subjects covered in this manual are designed to be very practical, and to prepare a people who are prepared to serve their generation. The aim is to equip men for real impact in ministry, and to furnish the spirit, soul, and body ready for qualitative kingdom service. More than a mere head knowledge of theology, and a paper certificate in the hand, this training manual is a hands-on drill for excellence in everyday ministry.APOSTLE (DR.) DAYO BROWN.
