To everything there is a season. Author Dollie Fuller shares vignettes from her life that bring this adage home time and again. A child of the south, the author suffered her share of pain and struggle. She found her path to healing through believing in her purpose on this earth, and in her unshakable faith. From the written plea she penned to God after being abused by a relative, to the harsh toil in the cotton fields, and winters where she found herself nearly frozen; from her father's outburst against her mother, to his own healing and growth; Fuller not only survived, but did so with renewed faith and hope. Gaining Strength Through Life Struggles: A Story of Survival is a poignant story of one child's struggle-and the confident, self-reliant woman she finally becomes. Indeed, we are reminded often that there is a time to weep and a time to laugh.
My Walk with Mom was written as a tribute to my mother who passed away on June 6, 2010. The book is a diary of events, thoughts and feelings covering the final three years of her life. It is my desire that the book will inspire others, whether they are caring for someone or the person being cared for. We must remember that life is short and we may all need help one day.
The book covers the last three years of my mother's life. It is a tribute to her and the family. It started out as merely keeping track of various appointments, etc., and ended up as a diary of events describing the last three years of her life. She struggled much longer than what is written, but I started taking care of her those last three years. Dollie Fuller was born and raised in South Carolina. She holds both a bachelor and a Masters's degree, and worked in academia and social services for over 40 years, until her retirement in 2007. She currently lives in Florence, South Carolina with her husband. They have two children and four grandchildren. My Walk With Mom is her second book.
