First published in 1953, these Hulsean Lectures inquire 'what has been, and what should be, the attitude of the Church and of individual Christians towards religions other than their own' and review the policy and methods of Christian missions to non-Christians.
This 1912 volume was based upon the Cambridge University Hulsean Prize essay for the year 1908. Revised throughout before publication, the text consists of a detailed exploration of Christian eschatology from its Old Testament origins onward. It also attempts to give credence to the position of eschatology as an abiding theological problem.
