An in-depth exegetical study of the book of Jonah which transports the reader into history and then brings the truth of God's pursuing love and grace into the readers own life. Jonah was a minor prophet with a major message. However, his message came in a different form than most of the prophets. His was the story of God's Pursuing love and grace toward himself, the nation of Israel, and to the entire human race. Jonah's prophetic words were few; but, his message profound. It is the story of a rebellious, runaway prophet who not only find God's grace but brought it to his people and to the evilest nation of his time. Most of all, the book of Jonah is the story of God-His Sovereignty, His Grace, and His Loving Pursuit of every man, woman and child.

This book is a frank and honest look at growing up and living life in a Bipolar world. Having spent a lifetime caring for and loving both Mom and Pete, who suffered from bipolar disorder; I learned that often what I thought was my sacrifice in love was upside down. Indeed, they taught me more of love than I could have ever learned otherwise. What I at times saw as trials, God saw as wondrous opportunities to grow in His love. A deep search of the heart can reveal that love can overcome and forgive a myriad of mistakes, even those we make. There can be healing, strength, and hope that overcomes every blemish. The bonds of love that bind us can be greater than the brokenness that would tear us apart. This is especially true when the gentle hands of love which heal us are the very hands of God. In His Sovereign Grace, God knew and chose the perfect path for Mom, Me, and Pete so that we might come to know Him and in Him find abiding, steadfast joy.
For anyone who has ever searched for love or lost a loved one; this book is a tribute for you. Finding after all the heartbreak, sorrow and tears; that true love remains evermore, transcending into hope and joy.
God called upon a layman to "Build That Wall" around Jerusalem in 444 B.C. Nehemiah had no former political position, nor was he among the spiritually elite. He held a comfortable prestigious position in the royal palace of the Persian King Artaxerxes. Yet, God called him out, to leave his comfort behind and to go to build the wall for his people. He met with great opposition, political corruption, and threats; yet, he stands out as a great leader. Beyond completing the wall, Nehemiah lead the nation of Israel to be great again by addressing the political corruption, social corruption, and spiritual decay within the nation. Once more, the people could rejoice with national pride; as one nation under God with the freedom to worship God with all their heart and soul. No longer would they hang their heads in shame and defeat. This book begins with an in-depth study of the Book of Nehemiah. A timely book; because America could learn much from Nehemiah. The second half of the book turns to take a hard look at "The Evil Within" our own nation. Throughout the twentieth century, we embraced the Secular Humanist movement; despite their failed experiments in reaching a social Utopia. Our embracement of this movement has brought us to the place we are where anger, division, and despair fill our nation. Truth is considered relative and Christians are demonized. Where do we go from here? There is hope for our nation to heal; and this book lays forth the keys with humility, intellect, and strength. With clarity, knowledge, love and grace; we can learn to win the debates. It will take diligence and hard work; but, we, the Christians in this nation cannot be bullied into silence any longer.
Poetry is a language that can reach deep within ones spirit, join with the pain, sorrow and despair; then rise to soar above all the storms with hope, strength, faith and joy. That is what this book of poetry does. Combining pictures, scriptures and poems it can lift you out of the depth of despair or cause your heart to soar above the storms with praise and joy. It can begin with: My life-so filled with hopes and dreamsLay shattered at Your feetSo many tears, so many painsI laid before Your seat And as the words carry you through every emotion and thought only to end withA song of praise unto You LordWho knows what's best for me!You'll hold my hand and lead me onIn darkness, I can see Your love, Your help, Your guiding handIs all I'll ever needSo, hold me close unto Your pathFor this is all I plead
Poetry expresses the deepest of emotions. It reveals the passionate core of what the writer is feeling and thus is able to carry the reader to feel those same emotions. With both the words spoken and the unspoken words, it allows the reader to transcend and unite in those emotions. Just like a song can touch your heart and cause you to connect with it in such a way to say, "Wow, that is what I am feeling"; poetry also touches our hearts in that same way. This collection of poems has been written over a period of many years. As a collection it expresses one major theme-that God is faithful, full of mercy and grace even when the obstacles of life may have created pain, sorrow, or doubt. It displays the frailties of a human spirit that can be overcome when united with an all-powerful God of Love. In this, the poetry becomes a song of praise to a faithful God who truly knows the best plan for your life and mine.
