When I am asked if I like being a teacher, I answer "It's an acquired taste," recalling a phrase used by Captain Janeway to describe her taste for black coffee (she is a character in the Star Trek Voyager series). Like any job, it has its good and bad things. It is not the path I had envisioned, but it is the one that was put before me in the most passable form.In the following post, I want to share something I have been doing for years, in an effort to help me in my work and hopefully also help my colleagues in a necessary but time-consuming task, the review of evaluations.What started as a thesis project, has ended up becoming one of my most vital work tools, and thanks to the insistence of a colleague, we made a joint publication to show the world what I had done. It's just one more grain of sand to help the teaching work, and if it inspires someone else to create something better, welcome.

Cuando me preguntan si acaso me gusta ser profesor, yo respondo ¿Es un gusto adquiridö, recordando una frase que usaba la capitana Janeway para describir su gusto por el café negro (es un personaje de la serie Voyager, de Star Trek). Como todo trabajo, tiene sus cosas buenas y malas. No es el camino que había envisionado, pero es el se puso ante mí en forma más transitable.En la siguiente publicación, quiero dar a conocer algo que he hecho durante años, en un esfuerzo para ayudarme en el trabajo y de paso, ojalá pueda ayudar también a mis colegas en una necesaria tarea, pero que es agobiante por el tiempo que consume, la revisión de evaluaciones.Lo que inició como un proyecto de tesis, ha terminado convirtiéndose en una de mis más vitales herramientas de trabajo, y gracias a la insistencia de un colega, hicimos una publicación conjunta para mostrar al mundo lo que había hecho. Es solo un granito de arena más para ayudar a la labor docente, y si acaso inspira a alguien más a crear algo mejor, bienvenido sea.
