"The Littlest Kitten" is the true story of one little Jerusalem street kitten who came to be known as Scruffy. Born into a harsh life as one of Jerusalem's thousands of stray street cats, Scruffy succeeded against all odds at surviving. Along the way she was helped by her friend, the old and wise Patches and friendly humans. Before Scruffy could begin a new life as a house cat, she had to face the wicked cat Malevolent, who wanted nothing more than to see Scruffy run out of Jerusalem.
For 20 years, a former U.S. Marine-turned firefighter and his one true love - a journalist and writer - have remained unchanged in their feelings, but torn apart repeatedly by distance, time, circumstance, and choices. Even so, without spending more than a few days together at a time, they stay in love. Then one day, she sends him a series of letters, poems, and news articles she wrote over a one-year period. All of it is part of her soul-searching reflection on why their love hasn't had a happy ending - or any ending. This slim volume includes visceral accounts about first responders, crime, and social justice issues in America, and plays out against the backdrop of world events and international travel from 1998-2018.
