In recent years, several projects and studies have been launched towards the development and use of new methodologies, in order to assess, monitor, and support clean forms of energy. Accurate estimation of the available energy potential is of primary importance, but is not always easy to achieve. The present Special Issue on ''Renewable Energy Resource Assessment and Forecasting'' aims to provide a holistic approach to the above issues, by presenting multidisciplinary methodologies and tools that are able to support research projects and meet today''s technical, socio-economic, and decision-making needs. In particular, research papers, reviews, and case studies on the following subjects are presented: wind, wave and solar energy; biofuels; resource assessment of combined renewable energy forms; numerical models for renewable energy forecasting; integrated forecasted systems; energy for buildings; sustainable development; resource analysis tools and statistical models; extreme value analysis and forecasting for renewable energy resources.

This book provides the optimum starting point for readers to come to terms with the important issues associated with defence training and simulation. It provides brief, easy-to-understand summaries of the key issues, as well as guidance for further reading. It consists of a collection of short essays and frequently asked questions.

Many geometrical features of manifolds and fibre bundles modelled on Frechet spaces either cannot be defined or are difficult to handle directly. This is due to the inherent deficiencies of Frechet spaces; for example, the lack of a general solvability theory for differential equations, the non-existence of a reasonable Lie group structure on the general linear group of a Frechet space, and the non-existence of an exponential map in a Frechet-Lie group. In this book, the authors describe in detail a new approach that overcomes many of these limitations by using projective limits of geometrical objects modelled on Banach spaces. It will appeal to researchers and graduate students from a variety of backgrounds with an interest in infinite-dimensional geometry. The book concludes with an appendix outlining potential applications and motivating future research.
