Case Study from the year 2021 in the subject Health Sciences - Health education, , language: English, abstract: Good Nutrition is key to good mental and physical health. Nutrition communication is an art and technique of informing, influencing, and motivating individual, institutional and public audiences about the importance of nutritional issues.This mixed method research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Nutrition Audio messages communication performance and recommended some ideas for improving it. In this research, 500 nutrition club member students from 17 schools were participated in questionnaire and FGDs; 17 focal teachers,17 principals and 4 media directors answered open ended questions.
Project Report from the year 2021 in the subject Communications - Research, Studies, Enquiries, grade: 3.70, , language: English, abstract: This research presents the result of assessment on the conditions of the implementation of COVID-19 prevention audio message delivery in five primary schools and solutions for effective utilization of the approach in the future. COVID-19 directly as well as indirectly has impacted students. In primary schools delivery of accurate information about the disease, its spread, preventive measures with appropriate communication channels with supportive measures for school children is essential to combat the outbreak. The objective of the evaluation was after media intervention to assess from which source students gained clear and trusted information and their level of re-disseminating the messages they gained to other people; identify misconceptions that possibly counter act the initiative and suggest advice for future school media interventions. Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2015 in the subject Pedagogy - Media Pedagogy, , language: English, abstract: This study explores factors that affect instructional leaders¿ perception of the role of media in classroom teaching in Amhara region of Ethiopia. To achieve the objective a one sample survey method using questioner and focus group discussion was employed. The participants are 168 instructional leaders (108 principals & 60 supervisors) with different training, teaching and school leadership experience selected by convenience sampling. The two roles of media that are selected are media used as supplement and substitute for the teacher in classroom teaching. Both quantitative and qualitative techniques were used to analyze the data gathered. The research answered seven research questions. The findings revealed that there were significant differences in perceptions of instructional leaders. Media training that they do have in the past contributed to some extent but neither experience in teaching nor in leadership has significant contribution for perception. The reasons behind instructional leaders¿ perception are mainly their belief that media has no or less impact on student motivation but traditional roles of teachers has some impact. The identified factors that affect perception are negative beliefs, irresponsibility, ignorance, lack of willingness and know-how. The study discusses the findings and makes some recommendations.
Academic Paper from the year 2018 in the subject Psychology - Media Psychology, , language: English, abstract: The main purpose of this mixed method study; in titled Satisfaction and Status: Exploring Satellite Television Program in Ethiopia Five Secondary Schools; is to explore the satisfaction of Students, Teachers and Principals on satellite TV educational program and also look the status, perception as well as factors affecting satellite program teaching learning process and find solutions with CIPP (Content, Input, Process, and Product) evaluation scale and open questions. participants in Northern Ethiopia particularly from Debark, Dabat, Wogera and Denbiya woredas are enrolled in this study.This research is in significance of utilization of ICT media technology can be a learning paradigm in the secondary level schools to enhance the students¿ knowledge and skills as well. The study is assumed relevance to improve the system of educational satellite TV broadcasting implementation in providing the feedbacks for the strengths and weakness of the program to the relevant stakeholders so that they can take measures to alleviate the identified challenges.The findings may create conducive environment for the teaching and learning process by satellite plasma television. The study will offer invaluable information to the school¿s administration as well as to policy makers in education as to the nature of the contribution of ICT to the teaching-learning process. This goal can be achieved through the proper utilization of ICT media technology that can enhance the motivation and achievement of the students. In addition to these the study may be basis for another researcher to conduct similar study.
