Life is changing for two brothers growing up in the years of pre-Great War Colorado of 1914. They are part of an unconventional family: both parents and an older sister are US Marshals, while another slightly older sister is a lawyer and member of the Colorado House of Representatives. Most men of the era would regard them as hopelessly progressive regarding women's rights. To the brothers it is just a normal part of life as they and their sisters share ranch tasks and duties on an equal basis. The skills the brothers have learned are honed by their background and when the United States enters the war, both answer the call to join the forces fighting the Axis Powers.
