In the soldier ant's wonder script so far: Dr Fixit (the overall commander of the new-breed soldier ants) halts relishing more of Pa Tortoise's adventure tale and journeys with the elite corps to human city to grab a radio station for mass spread of ideals of 'new-breedism' (the new-breed soldier ants' concepts of a better universe). While in the premises of the targeted radio station, the disgraced and evicted Mendit One (former head of the information unit) stages a war on the main base of the new-breed soldier ants near the jungle. On videos sent via smart phones, the soldier ants in the city watch those in the base battle for dear life with Mendit One's hybrid and ragtag troops.
Dr Fixit, the soldier ant, keeps relishing Pa Tortoise's adventure tale even in the premises of the radio station as his wife, Tracit, copies and sends it as text messages with the mobile phone. Then he orders his troop, the elite corps, to chase humans away from the radio console where he grabs the microphone and makes his very first speech to reach homes of humans where he hopes those listening would eventually imbibe his ideals of a green and love-filled world.
What is love? Where has it gone that everyone everywhere is searching for it? A young man takes a tour in this versified tale through the countryside to find it.
The soldier ant keeps penning his movie script which has the potential of becoming a box-office hit after returning to the United States with his partner, the American female journalist, Lib Freegate, to witness her wedding to her childhood chum, Jim. During the event, the couple who have started working on the script to make a film out of it, actually show a clip (with permission of the scriptwriter) to their excited guests who can't help but demand more. In the script proper, the main character, Dr Fixit, commander of the new-breed soldier ants on a world mission to purge humans and then insects and animals of their evil ways, is getting entangled in a secret romance with his second-in-command, Tracit. The rest of the troops, almost five million in number, seem to be getting whiff of it. It looks like the entire camp might soon explode. Is Commander Mendit One, the head of the information unit, and his team of conservatives' threat to constituted authority (call it an attempted coup) a hint of the scandal creeping in the camp?
In this volume, the soldier ant, Dr Fixit, is hard at work as he keeps elongating his movie script where he, as the protagonist, is engrossed with his wife, Tracit, in reading the book written by the sage, Pa Tortoise. He hopes to grab nuggets of wisdom that could help him consolidate his gains as a massive and positive world-changer.
Dr Fixit, back in his native continent, keeps writing his film script. In SCENE SIX, the troops break a core rule; in SEVEN, a commander reports two troops for smooching; in EIGHT, Dr Fixit preaches against romance in the camp but in NINE, his female second in command's movements distract him and a stiff struggle ensues as he tries to banish the image from his mind. But the still small voice steals in to engage him in the theme of 'love' and he also points out the futility of Dr Fixit's mission to save the world. The emotional and mental battle continues till SCENE THIRTEEN where the voice, quite jealous, transforms into a praying mantis and there is a violent physical fight between it and the soldier ant.
'Dr Fixit (Africa's Longest Poem - Volume One' has a narrative in rhyme about a soldier ant which out of curiosity goes to play with a grasshopper but accidentally is flown from the jungle and ends up in a sugar factory and later with the sugar packs, is moved to a ship where he goes touring the world discreetly with the captain. He later abandons ship to explore the lives of humans more deeply and ends up partnering with an American female journalist and from books in her library, he starts practising how to write. With his love and talent for writing, he begins to write his script (after watching some epic films) and hopes to craft his fabulous box-office hit. With the journalist, he returns to his native continent and his dream too is gradually taking shape. In this volume is the draft of the first five scenes of 'Dr Fixit', the movie script about the good soldier ant who launches a massive mission to save a bad world.
