Bien es cierto que no había indios que venerasen la imagen de la Virgen o pidiesen misericordia a Cristo Redentor. No había indios en Cuba. ¡De cien, cien murieron! La Corporación de La Habana hizo pingües utilidades mayores que cuando la trata de negros; ¡aún en esto hubo proceso!
