De même, alors que le nombre des enfants va tous les jours en décroissant, se multiplient les ouvrages les plus étudiés sur l'évolution de l'enfant, sur l'enfant et la race, sur l'esprit et le coeur de l'enfant. Je ne crois pas qu'il y ait là de quoi justifier l'optimisme d'un certain auteur allant jusqu'à dénommer le siècle de l'enfant une époque où on a des enfants le moins possible..."
