This book highlights the importance of ground water because knowing the groundwater level is important for several reasons, including understanding aquifer levels under static conditions and pumping conditions, determining how the levels interact with local surface water sources, and understanding how surface development has impacted the aquifer. Ground water pollution is more complicated than surface water pollution because the contaminated aquifer is very much difficult to treat and recover as compared to surface water body. This book provides an insight into the effect of change in physico-chemical parameters of water on human health. Dental fluorosis, methamoglobinaemia, Knock-Knee Syndrome are some typical diseases associated with ground water pollution.
