Imagine being plunged dab smack in the middle of a piece of history that you knew nothing about, but left you desperately wanting to know how it ends, only to find yourself time traveling back through threads of other periods of history and other pieces of time and life entanglements, not knowing how it would all come together. I read on and was transported to numerous time periods, involving people in heralding situations, with no understanding of how it would all fit together, yet intuitively knowing it does and wanting to know the how, the when, and the where, this patchwork quilt of history would all come together. The protagonist takes you back into her many past journeys to put context to the modern complexities of her life. You will not know where you are going, or who you will be introduced to or what situation you will find unfolding. You will stop to ponder what you have read, then eagerly read on, in hopes of finding out what or who will come into view next along a journey that is not linear or chronological by any means.I dare say, it is this teasing that keeps this reader wanting more of Doing Life With Hope. I think the author, Ingrid Landis-Davis, will keep you glued to the page until the words 'The End' stops you.
