Part of the ensuing Discourse about Light was written at the Desire of some Gentlemen of the Royal-Society, in the Year 1675, and then sent to their Secretary, and read at their Meetings, and the rest was added about twelve Years after to complete the Theory; except the third Book, and the last Proposition of the Second, which were since put together out of scatter'd Papers. To avoid being engaged in Disputes about these Matters, I have hitherto delayed the printing, and should still have delayed it, had not the Importunity of Friends prevailed upon me. If any other Papers writ on this Subject are got out of my Hands they are imperfect, and were perhaps written before I had tried all the Experiments here set down, and fully satisfied my self about the Laws of Refractions and Composition of Colours. I have here publish'd what I think proper to come abroad, wishing that it may not be translated into another Language without my Consent. The Crowns of Colours, which sometimes appear about the Sun and Moon, I have endeavoured to give an Account of; but for want of sufficient Observations leave that Matter to be farther examined. The Subject of the Third Book I have also left imperfect, not having tried all the Experiments which I intended when I was about these Matters, nor repeated some of those which I did try, until I had satisfied my self about all their Circumstances. To communicate what I have tried, and leave the rest to others for farther Enquiry, is all my Design in publishing these Papers. In a Letter written to Mr. Leibnitz in the year 1679, and published by Dr. Wallis, I mention'd a Method by which I had found some general Theorems about squaring Curvilinear Figures, or comparing them with the Conic Sections, or other the simplest Figures with which they may be compared. And some Years ago I lent out a Manuscript containing such Theorems, and having since met with some Things copied out of it, I have on this Occasion made it publick, prefixing to it an Introduction, and subjoining a Scholium concerning that Method. And I have joined with it another small Tract concerning the Curvilinear Figures of the Second Kind, which was also written many Years ago, and made known to some Friends, who have solicited the making it publick. I. N. April 1, 1704.

The book ""Correspondence of Sir Isaac Newton and Professor Cotes: Including Letters of Other Eminent Men"" is a collection of letters exchanged between the renowned physicist Sir Isaac Newton and his colleague and friend, Professor Roger Cotes. The letters cover a wide range of topics, including mathematics, physics, and astronomy, and provide insight into the minds of two of the greatest scientific minds of the 17th and 18th centuries. In addition to the letters between Newton and Cotes, the book also includes letters from other prominent figures of the time, such as John Flamsteed, Edmond Halley, and Robert Boyle. These letters offer further context and perspective on the scientific and intellectual climate of the era.The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of science and mathematics, as well as for those curious about the personal and professional lives of two of the most influential figures in the history of science. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. • - The Apocalypse of St. John
    af Isaac Newton
    132,95 kr.

Observations upon the Prophecies of Daniel and the APOCALYPSE of St. JOHN By Sir Isaac Newton. The Book of Daniel is a biblical apocalypse, combining a prophecy of history with an eschatology (the study of last things) which is both cosmic in scope and political in its focus. In more mundane language, it is "an account of the activities and visions of Daniel, a noble Jew exiled at Babylon," its message being that just as the God of Israel saved Daniel and his friends from their enemies, so he would save all of Israel in their present oppression. In the Hebrew Bible it is found in the Ketuvim (writings), while in Christian Bibles it is grouped with the Major Prophets. The book divides into two parts, a set of six court tales in chapters 1-6 followed by four apocalyptic visions in chapters 7-12. The deuterocanon contains three additional stories, the Song of the Three Holy Children, Susanna, and Bel and the Dragon.

Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy) is a book written by the English mathematician and physicist, Sir Isaac Newton. First published in 1687, it is considered one of the most important works in the history of science. The book lays out Newton's laws of motion and universal gravitation, which explain the behavior of objects in motion and the forces that act upon them. It also includes his three laws of motion and the law of universal gravitation, which describe the relationship between the motion of objects and the forces acting on them. The book is written in Latin and is divided into three parts, covering mechanics, fluids, and the theory of gravitation. It includes many mathematical equations and diagrams, making it a challenging read for those without a strong background in mathematics and physics. However, it remains a seminal work in the history of science and has had a profound impact on the development of modern physics and astronomy.Text Is In Italian. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
