Ivan Panin begins his book with nine Canons by which to approach Chronology. They are brilliantly put together, and if followed, not only reduce disagreement among scholars to a virtual non-issue, but provide an approach to Scripture that honors it for what it is. His second section is a List of every knowable date in the Bible. This is an invaluable reference guide and is the core of the results of his years of research. The third section is a guided tour through the undergirding of the numerics woven throughout the Chronology. While he could have written volumes on the subject, he limits himself to clear examples that have specific impact. It is a pleasure, as well as wonderfully instructional, to read someone who does not hesitate to tackle the toughest of "contradictions", and who can take problems that have puzzled scholars for years and demonstrate Scripture's perfect harmony

Panin's Bible Chronology is a classic work of scholarship on Biblical chronology. Ivan Panin's Bible Chronology Restored is a word-for-word transcription of the 1939 edition of his 1923 printing. The formatting is duplicated as well as the exact (often archaic) spelling and expressions. Unlike the 1950 'revision', this is faithful to his original work with only the typographical errors corrected.Panin begins with nine Canons by which to approach chronology, providing an approach to the subject which is designed to eliminate useless debate. His second section is a "List" of every given date in the Bible that is relevant. This reference guide, the core of years of research, is valuable to both his and anyone else's research. The third section is a guided tour through the numerics woven throughout the Chronology. While he could write volumes on the subject, he limits himself to clear examples that have specific impact. The length of this book is deceptively short for the subject matter. However, the reader will find it concentrated and distilled, demanding one's full attention. The facts are detailed and internally consistent, the "Canons" are salient and would hold up in any court, and the numerics have their own distict appeal. An appendix has been added that shows side-by-side his dates and those of Bishop Ussher, as well as some of Edwin Thiele's conclusions in the section of the Kings. Those familiar with the classic problems of chronology that are revisited by each generation of scholars will appreciate the depth and range of Panin's often unique approach.

Panin is considered by many to be the father of biblical numerics and his work has intrigued scholar and layman alike since its inception, and remains, whether one agrees with his numeric methodology or not, one of the most accurate New Testament critical texts available. This is both a historic treasure and a unique practical reference. The Numeric Greek New Testament was first ';Printed Privately for the Editor' in 1934, titled The New Testament in the Original Greek. Ivan Panin personally traveled to the Oxford University Press and set the typesetting by hand. It includes an Introduction in 37 sections that gives the reader a glimpse into the intricate world of Numerics. In the companion to this text, Panin's Greek and English Parallel New Testament, which has both this Greek critical text and Panin's English translation side-by-side, the formatting is matched to that of his 1914 English translation and its 1936 revision. In this edition the formatting follows his 1934 Greek text, which is a bit more condensed; see Panin's explanation in 26 of the Introduction. Also, his corrigneda (corrections) listed in the 1966 printing have been implemented in this edition, and the Greek letter accentuations are somewhat more abbreviated in this edition than Panin's. The books are placed in the order found in standard Bibles rather than Panin's order, which is listed below. Other than these slight changes, this edition remains as faithful as possible to Ivan Panin's masterpiece, including the many formatting quirks and archaic forms, to accurately preserve both the spirit and form of Panin's work.

The Present Edition is a reprint of Ivan Panins classic translation of the New Testament from a Greek critical text established by himself through his lifes work in what he called Numerics. This edition is neither a scan nor a copy; it is a word-for-word and letter-for-letter transcription of Panin's English translation. As a remarkable attestation to the thoroughness of the original, a mere 21 typographical errors were found (two of which were retained for posterity), none of which affected the Text. This edition is taken from the 4th printing (1954 printed in Great Britain, Book Society of Canada), and includes both the Preface and the Preface to the Second Edition found in that copy.Panin's work has intrigued scholar and layman alike since its inception, and remains, whether you agree with his numeric methodology or not, on of the most accurate and readable New Testament translations available. The Preface gives a multitude of examples of the process used, and his Notes in the back delve into several subjects which serve as examples of the value of this phenomena. As both a historic treasure and an unique reference, the Numeric English New Testament has earned its place on every reader's bookshelf.

The Present Edition is Ivan Panins classic translation of the New Testament from a Greek critical text established by himself through his lifes work in what he called Numerics. This edition puts his work into contemporary language, i.e., ';you say' rather than ';thou sayest'. This edition is taken from the 4th printing (1954 printed in Great Britain, Book Society of Canada) of his 1935 revision of his 1914 English translation, and includes both the Preface and the Preface to the Second Edition found in that copy. No changes or alterations other than the modernizing of archaic English and the setting of the book in the commonly used order has been done. Panin is considered by many to be the father of biblical numerics and his work has intrigued scholar and layman alike since its inception, and remains, whether one agrees with his numeric methodology or not, one of the most accurate and readable New Testament translations available. The Preface gives a multitude of examples of the process used, and his Notes in the back delve into several subjects which serve as examples of the value of this phenomena. As both a historic treasure and an unique reference, the Numeric English New Testament has earned its place on every reader's bookshelf.
