You could also play as an Insectoid, more bug than human, or an animal or plant that's had its evolution advanced to human equivalence. Simple Apocalypse uses the Simple Sixes Revised rules set, a mechanic that uses 2d6 plus skill and other modifiers against a target number.

What good is an adventure if you don't stumble upon a creature or two dozen? A Simple Bestiary is a tome of regular and mythological or legendary creatures that you can use in any Simple Sixes Revised setting. Most are geared for a fantasy setting, but with a bit of imagination you can easily place any of these monstrosities anywhere you like! A fire breathing dragon? It could be an alien species on a distant planet in a galaxy as far away as you want, or maybe it's a mutated gecko in a post apocalyptic future Earth! A Simple Bestiary is filled with 200-ish creatures to hurl at your player characters. It also includes a comprehensive random encounter system with tables covering almost every terrain type imaginable.

All actions are performed using a roll of 2d6 plus stat, skill level and other modifiers against a target number determined by the "Boss" or Game Master. The rules can be modified with the addition of other rules from the Simple Sixes Revised core book or any other supplement to be released in the future. Make your cowboys and cowgirls face off against vampires and demons, or shoot it out with alien invaders! The only limit to adventure is your imagination!

Simple Sixes Revised is an expanded version of the original Simple Sixes rules set that I published way back in 2008. The system uses standard six-sided dice with a 2d6 roll high mechanic to beat a difficulty number set by the Game Master. I hadn't touched the rules for several years as I had begun developing another system and let this one sit as is. Now that I've had some time to tackle it with some better tools, I have enhanced the game and made it more robust with options that will allow you to use Simple Sixes for any genre you wish to play in. The date is February 22, 1942. Somewhere beneath the waves of the Pacific Ocean near the island of Guam, an American special operations submarine designated as the SS-188A USS Nighthawk is adrift and slowly sinking after suffering devastating damage from a depth charge detonation. The vessel is descending towards the ominous Mariana Trench, the deepest known crevasse in the ocean.The survivors of the attack must scramble to get the doomed vessel to the surface before their oxygen supply is depleted, or the submarine reaches crush depth and is crumpled like a piece of paper. Meanwhile, a primordial being rises from the depths to plague the crew of the Nighthawk as they scramble to survive. Will they live or will they die? It is up to the players, and the dice to decide!Twisted Tales: From the Depths is the first in a series of one shot adventure scenarios for use with the OpenD6 rules system to help you get acquainted with the rules or to introduce new players to this exciting cinematic role playing game. In each scenario you will receive the basic rules for action and combat resolution, and at least six player character templates designed specifically for usage in the scenario. This booklet, along with a handful of six sided dice are all you will need to allow you to play the adventure. If you'd like to include additional rules to enhance game play, you will find directions within the book to help you acquire the original OpenD6 rues sets.
