I had the opportunity to take a grand tour to the wonderful country of Brazil which I had always dreamed about. I can say it didn't disappoint. Before computers could imitate an orchestra well, I bought in Salvador many Brazilian instruments and carted them back home. O Holy Art, A Tragic One Act Opera Piano Vocal Score Duration: 60 minutes What happens when a struggling composer can't get his work heard? Djeno Isma (baritone) is in such a situation. One New Years Eve his luck changes for the better, or worse, when he is introduced to a famous classical composer, Gunter Strauss (bass). Strauss gives Djeno the name of his agent, but when Djeno meets the agent, he pans his work. Djeno leaves it behind and it comes to pass that six months later he hears his piece on the radio under the name of Gunter's. What's more, his best friend, Cindy (soprano) is the one who is singing it. Never famous enough, Djeno (baritone), is always rejected and the meeting with the famous composer's agent proves the same. Telling them to do whatever with the piece, it is appropriated by the famous composer and is a hit. Hearing the piece on the radio and sung by his soprano best friend, Djeno can take no more and commits suicide. His friend must deal with the aftermath of her betrayal. Musical theater/opera hybrid.
