Piano Party is the core book at all four levels of the Bastiens'' Invitation to Music Series (A, B, C, D); new concepts are introduced in the Piano Party books. Along with Piano Party, the companion books, Theory & Ear Training Party and Performance Party, provide the formula for a well-balanced music education. Colorful illustrations in all the books are used to reinforce concepts and styles, to maintain interest, and to motivate.

Theory & Ear Training Party books correlate with their respective level Piano Party books. They provide reinforcement of the concepts presented in Piano Party, especially through listening and writing plus improvising and composing activities. Students learn through sequential games and exercises designed to hold their interest.

Each of these action-packed books build students'' reading skills using two types of exercises: Daily Note Search emphasizes quick recognition of notes out of five-finger positions; Short Phrases in five-finger positions give your students a daily diet of reading (not rehearsing). The suggested practice routine fosters excellent self-evaluation habits. Progress reports help teachers and students track annual progress. Both of Levels 1 and 2 may be used with any beginning piano method.Level 1 provides sight reading material, both in and out of 5-finger position.
