This 12 Days of Christmas quilt provides both a visual and interactive experience for your family! From Christmas Day through Twelfth Night on January 5th, or the Eve of Epiphany (the manifestation of Jesus to the maji), children can trace the story as it evolves. The nativity scene begins at Day 1, celebrating Christ's birth. Each day, for 12 days, your child can pull a treat and a faith-teaching card from the pocket! (pattern includes 12 cards that can be cut out and inserted into each pocket)
The powerful images of Pentecost - the Holy Spirit coming down to the disciples, touching them as the stood watch, giving them the abilities they needed to go forth in their mission - are captured in this ultra unique quilt design. The bold red background pops against the white, and the gradual fading of color in the tongues of fire from deep red, to orange, to yellow mimics the heat of burning flames. The dove appears to dive above the burning flames, and the border plays off the colors in the flames as it, too, follows a similar color progression from deep red at the bottom to the brilliantly pure white at the top.Acts 2:1-4 says: "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them." Share this story in creating your quilt; we, too, are given gifts and abilities to empower us on our mission.
Are you looking to bring more faith (and less commercialism) to your Advent and Christmas season? Would you like to celebrate the days leading up to Christmas in a meaningful - yet fun - way with your family? This book contains over 80 pages of detailed ornament templates, daily scripture readings (with links to full text), devotions, coloring pages, and family-friendly activities inspired by the scripture to help your family count down the days of Advent in a spiritual way. At the end of the book you'll find instructions with photos on how to create the felt tree. Each day, families have the option of creating an ornament in an unlimited number of ways, which means they can select the option that is best for them. From the "I'm not crafty at all" to the "I hand make everything", we've got you covered! Ornaments can be made by: -PAINTING AND COLORING: printing out the coloring page onto cardstock, coloring or painting, and cutting out the ornament-GLUING: cutting out the templates and piecing together, using construction paper and glue or craft foam and glue-SEWING: hand stitch using felt and embroidery floss-anything else you think of!The 25 "days" are broken into three pages per day. The first page contains activities, suggested Bible readings, a summary (takeaway) of the readings, a tie-in of the story to Jesus, and a short prayer. You can pick and choose which of these activities are best for your family, as well as supplement or change the readings. The second page has the materials you will need to make the ornament. Below the instructions is a photo showing the final hand-stitched ornament. The third page has - at the top - a coloring sheet which is perfect for crayons, colored pencils, paints, markers, or any other medium you choose. Below that are the ornament templates for printing and cutting should you be making the ornaments from construction paper, card stock, craft foam, or felt. While the pages are in black and white, each ornament appears in full color on the back cover of the book for reference while making your own!
This pattern, Advent Wreaths, shares the beauty of the Advent wreath. Each panel represents one week during advent, and each week a new candle is added to the Advent wreath. The focus of each week - faith, hope, joy, love - appear above each wreath. This quilt is a wonderful way to bring the spirit of Advent into your home. The rich purples and pink hint at the excitement of Christmas to come, while the subdued images keep our hearts in a time of preparation for Christ's birth. The versatility of this pattern allows you to make it in three different ways: lay the panels end-to-end to make a banner for the wall; stack two panels on top of each other to make a wall hanging; set the panels side-by-side to make a table runner. Bring the spirit of Advent into your home this season!------------------------------------This pattern was designed by me, Jen Frost, and is copyrighted 2015. All rights reserved.
