Per la prima volta dal 1869 integralmente tradotto ed edito in lingua italiana il racconto gotico di John Retcliffe " il segreto dei cimitero ebraico di Praga", che riecheggia i Protocolli dei Savi Anziani di Sion: in una notte raggelante, di fronte ad un attonito spettatore, appaiono nel cimitero gli spettri di antichi rabbini che declamano il progetto di dominio mondiale di Sion di cui loro sono i terrei depositari. Questo famosissimo " romanzo storico antisemita", secondo la definizione datane da Prezzolini, tanto citato quanto mai letto, è ora disponibile in edizione integrale per il lettore italiano, in una edizione realmente degna di nota . Accompagna il racconto una introduzione di Edoardo Longo ( " una novella fra incubo e storia") che ripropone il quesito della veridicità dei Protocolli di Sion attraverso le esperienze professionali dell' autore, avvocato difensore di imputati perseguitati dalla lobby ebraica, nonché una inedita interpretazione del romanzo che, sotto il velame di un apparato simbolico, decrittato, potrebbe celare il sorgere ottocentesco di una nascosta quanto potente Gran Loggia ebraica con i suoi programmi di potere ( " i Figli del patto", organizzazione massonica oggi realmente esistente) . I Protocolli di Sion hanno una radice di inesplorabile veridicità ? E' il quesito indicibile cui cerca di dare risposta lo studio di Gianluca Casseri in appendice, partendo da questo racconto gotico, che ricorda 1984 di Orwell e una futuribile società totalitaria. Chiude il libro uno scritto, sempre di Edoardo Longo, sui " segreti delle sinagoghe " e sulle occulte maledizioni contro i non ebrei che riecheggiano anche oggi nei rituali delle sinagoghe e ricordano sinistramente le maledizioni degli spettri del Cimitero.
