A friend gave me a stack of old LIFE magazines.Being a collage artist, what else could I do?"Sell them on eBay!" was the suggestion. "How can you tear them up?" they gasped!Well, that's what I do. I like to take the old and make something new of it.I was very intrigued by these old magazines. I also enjoy studying history, and here was page after page of history. Not only the stories they choose to cover, but the advertisements and the language used as well, fascinated me. I held an item that was produced before I was born, and almost one hundred years old.I took hold of 5 issues of LIFE from 1937, 1938, 1939, 1943 and 1948, the oldest ones I had, and went page by page, looking through history, for victims of my desire to "deconstruct" and "reconstruct." Then I showed the set to a few friends. "What are you going to do with them?" "Are you going to make a book with them?"
This book contains ten Affirmation Posters meant to be used for inspirational purposes. It is the second "A Course in Miracles" edition and the sixth in the series. This is Volume Two of four devoted to a book called "A Course In Miracles." The Course (ACIM) originated in the 1970's, being scribed by Helen Schucman, with the assistance of William Thetford, of teachings given directly to them by the personage we know as Jesus. It is published by the Foundation For Inner Peace and is being studied by multitudes of people in every corner of the planet, having been translated into numerous languages. The Course consists mainly of the Text, the Workbook for Students and the Manual for Teachers. Each poster page is printed on one side. By opening the book to the page you wish to remove, just push down the page with your hands while the book is flat on a table and "crack" the spine. Turn the page to its back side and do the same. There is a thin layer of glue holding the pages together in the spine of the cover, and by "cracking" it the page will become loose enough to pull it from the book. Do it gently, so as not to rip the paper. Each page you pull out should measure 8 X 10 inches.
One day while researching poetry exercises for my poetry class, I came upon the idea of Recipe Poems. This exercise asked the poet to think of a food recipe and write a poem around it, about it, incorporating it - however it would work.I loved the idea, as there is nothing I love more than poetry, except for food! So I wrote my first Recipe Poem. Being a vegetarian, of course, I was not going to use a recipe for chicken cacciatore.I fell in love with writing Recipe Poems and turned to the Internet for finding recipes. I Googled "Vegetarian Recipes" and found a ton of ideas. Some of those recipes were from various countries around the world and made for even more fascinating ideas for poems. The recipes and "facts" (like the history of potatoes) fond in these poems are true, and following the directions should result in preparing the actual dish being written about. I used my imagination to make up the stories that are told in each poem. They are not necessarily "true" stories, thought some are based in true facts. But mostly, I tried to imagine emotional themes that would tie in with the food being prepared, like the tears in the "Oregano Baked Onions" and a sick old man in "Old-fashioned Vegetable Barley Soup."

Achieve a healthier mental state. Experience a mental calmness. Eliminate a lot of stress from your life. Be happier and feel more joy in life. These are some of the benefits of having a still mind. Millions of people walk through life everyday with continuous thoughts of worry, fear, doubt, and other negatives, going through their minds. When they are having these thoughts they are not at peace within themselves. Many people wish they could stop the thoughts in their heads, but don't know how.I have written this book to share what worked for me. By following the three simple steps outlined in this book you should be able to completely eradicate all the negative thoughts from your mind. At the very least, the number of thoughts should be reduced.Think about how it would feel to walk through life having a still mind, a mind unencumbered by the thought loops of worry and fear. It is possible. Many people have discovered The Mind Power: Yoga Techniques of Meditation and Relaxation, and now you have the opportunity to take the three steps to having a still mind.
In June of 2016 I was scheduled to be the featured reader for the monthly reading of the Poets of the Palm Beaches, and decided I would pull out a collection of my poems which had been published in the Poets of the Palm Beaches and the Florida State Poets Association anthologies. Then I thought, well, why not publish them in a small volume. What you are reading is that collection.
In 1996 I had the opportunity to travel to Italy with my mother, father and brother Vince. I spent two weeks in Sicily visiting my mother's side of the family and two weeks in Italy where I met my father's relatives and visited Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan and points in-between. Everywhere I went I took a multitude of photographs and wrote about my experiences. As a result of that trip this book was created by putting tougher a collection of the poems I wrote and the photographs I took on my trip.
In 2009 I took a 2001calendar that I had bought and had been saving. It was printed in Italy on linen paper. The full color illustrations were of Japanese woodcuts created in the 1800's. I also had coffee table books I had been collecting that were full of old black and white photographs from the early 1900's. I searched through the books of photographs cutting out selected photographs and pasted them into the woodcut illustrations. I found images of buildings to include in each.In the end I saw them as snapshots people took as souvenirs, or memoirs, of their adventures. I titled each to covey this notion. Then I created a story to go with each image. I started with January, and the story grew one month at a time. I hope you enjoy my little fantasy that I have constructed with paper, paste, scissors and words.
This book is a unique combination of Digitally Created Images and Astrological explanations of the Zodiac Signs. The twelve images were created for a "Celestial Art Exhibit" and were then paired up with one of the Zodiac Signs.
This book contains ten Affirmation Posters meant to be used for inspirational purposes. Each poster page is printed on one side and can be removed from the book. You can now tape it or pin it to the wall, mirror, refrigerator, cupboard door, or wherever you will see and be reminded of the message it gives every time you pass it by. By looking at it often and repeating the message you are reinforcing the thought, which, if you clear your mind and focus on it, along with feeling it, you should find the positive manifestations showing up in your life. You can frame up all ten of the posters and put them around the house, or decorate a whole wall with them. They also can be given as gifts. The sayings on these posters come from various sources in the New Age and Metaphysical world where Law of Attraction and prosperity are taught.
These poems are little descriptive stories about people. Some of these are rooted in autobiographical material. Others are completely fictitious. Still others are inspired by people I know, or by people known through the media. I can't help putting my individual twist on some of them; commentary, if you will. Some of this comes out as opinion concerning religion and sex. Please don't be offended, as no offence is intended. I hope you enjoy these poems. If any of them make you think of yourself or someone you know, it's OK. If none of them make you think of yourself or someone you know, please write me and tell me what planet you are from.

Starting with a large calendar (13 1/2 inches wide by 19 inches long) called Architecture, containing images of hand-colored engraved plates of eighteenth century architectural details, circa 1750, printed on heavy linen paper, I combed through numerous books of twentieth century history to find images of movie stars that I could work with. After that it was a matter of assembling them in collage fashion, with cut and tear, layering and pasting. Then I assembled a mini biography on each movie star.
I have been writing poetry for more than sixty years, and I have experimented with many different poetic forms and themes. One type of poem I am known for is little descriptive stories about people. From my point of view, I'm just keeping it real. Of course, everybody's reality is relative. I hope you enjoy these poems. If any of them make you think of yourself or someone you know, that's OK. If none of them make you think of yourself or someone you know, that's OK too. Where ever you are is where you belong. The Author
This is a collection of poetry and art that I have produced over the past (almost) thirty years. A friend of mine made his own Christmas card every year. I was impressed, and thought, I can do that! And so it began. Being a poet and an artist, I enjoyed creating my own cards. Some of the artwork in this volume was the cover art for some of those cards. I decided to put this book together for those of you who have never received one of my cards, and for those of you have, there's more here that you probably received. . Included are mostly Christmas poems, but there are some birthday, Thanksgiving, and New Year's poems included, along with a couple of others that I threw in just because.
"What if gay marriage were legal in the 1800s and the most popular honeymoon spot was Japan?" I collaged images of Japanese woodcuts created in the 1800's in full color with photographs that were taken in the 1800's of men together. These ten images are like a set of old photographs that were taken as souvenirs of their honeymoons, and the poems let each of them tell their story.
