Cats change to suit the house they are in, to preserve harmony and ensure constant food. The way your cat relates depends much on your personality and character. By looking at your cat you can see yourself! Ken Ring is co-author of Pawmistry, the runaway best-seller that allowed the cat-owner for the first time to learn about their cats' inner character by examining its paws. Here you will learn: * How you behave in relationships! * What you appear to be to others! * The extent of authority you really command! * Unconscious body language you are using! This is a book about cats and their people. Both adjust to each other in a fascinating balance between willpower and respect. Based on NLP studies and sound psychology, it is an in-depth study of human/animal interaction. Easy to read and with a sense of fun, Ken Ring has suggested some basic rules for relationships that we can all plug into! (Note: How Your Cat Chose You is intended as a light-hearted bit of fun, and shouldn't be taken too seriously - but you still might learn something in the process!)
Most people know the saying "Red sky in the morning, shepherds warning", but did you know that saying could be far older than the Bible? Ken Ring's Moon & Weather Lore contains a collection of aspects of weather folklore from ages past, selected from old literature, sailors' tales, historical writings, hand-me-down accounts, and rules of the ancient peoples from many countries. There are also comments as to why they might be accurate, based on the author's 25 years of meteorological experience. For hundreds of years, it was believed that the moon controlled the weather, and that belief persists today, even amongst some meteorologists. To quote one government forecaster, "I still like to keep an eye on what the moon is doing, although the younger ones don't seem to care much!" After reading this book, you will start watching seagulls, the shape of the clouds, and when the flowers open. You'll start to notice the significance of which way the ants are running, where the sheep go at the start of the day, and even the way the bubbles rise in your coffee! A HANDY GUIDE FOR FARMERS, SAILORS, FISHERMEN, PILOTS, TRAMPERS, SURVEYORS, ORCHARDISTS, EVENT-PLANNERS, SPORTS-PEOPLE, AND ANYONE ELSE INTERESTED IN THE OUTDOORS.

Walking out of the city with absolutely nothing, Bruce discovers by trial and error how to survive hunger and the cold. By watching the birds, he learns what can be eaten in the wild. Secrets of the gypsies, psychological tricks revealed, an insider's look at fortune telling.
New Zealander Ken Ring is a household name in Ireland, and to farmers in Australia. His weather almanacs since 2007 have been accurately foretelling weather trends a year ahead in those countries and in NZ since 1999. As long-range consultant and presenter for Australia's largest TV network, Channel 7, Ken has appeared regularly on Australian screens. Ken received trenchant criticism from powerful political forces in New Zealand, accusing him of panicking people with forecasts of more earthquakes 6 months after the Christchurch earthquake of Sept 2010. The following February, disaster struck in Christchurch with another, devastating quake. Ken has been studying the weather since the early 1970s. In this pioneering book Ken explains his theories; it contains many surprises.
Step by step for the layman, explains what earthquakes are and when they will strike.
You can't force your child to like math. I don't really know if we have a right to get them to like anything. There is only one reasonably sure way they may become interested in this subject - and that is if you are interested in it. There are, to the disgust of the rest, some parents and kids who already love math. It is a fact of life though, that people of all ages and in great numbers hate the very thought of it, think there's something crook about it, lie awake at night and sweat over it, and can't understand how some get it and others don't. Perhaps you were one of those kids. You might remember coming home from school and all that nagging about doing your homework. As if that was going to improve the situation. You probably said "Why do I have to do this?" and they said "Because it's good for you, These are your best years, Get a good education and you'll thank us later, blah-blah..." It made little sense. And what about the double standard - they didn't bring work home, did they? yet you were made to do homework. If you hated math as a kid you would have been forced to watch pasty-faced nerds in class all day, getting things right and getting ahead. Didn't they have a life? Yet people said, why couldn't you be like Ronald, or Sharon, and try a little harder. Well if you weren't trying for all these years, what did they think you were doing? It was somewhat of a mystery. You knew the ones good at math didn't go home and do math right till they went to bed. You even played with them, on the weekends too, and you knew they had just as much free time as you. Then when you looked around you, you realised that most of your mates hated math too. What did that tell you? Was this just a freak class of retards or a typical class in a typical year? You might have then asked yourself, as I did, have kids always hated math? Is there another way? A better way? A way that doesn't have to make math a daily nightmare? Well, guess what - there is! Read on to find out more. *** Ken Ring grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, majoring in psychology at University of Auckland. He has since been a teacher, parent, lecturer, speech therapist, special needs tutor, author, actor, clown, and magician. He taught for 20 years, and in 1989 realised the power of magic as a teaching tool, so took a gamble, left teaching, and took his Mathman act on the road. His message that maths can be entertaining is now well-known in over 500 New Zealand schools and the presentation has the blessing of the Maths Education Advisory service, who often assist in setting up itineraries. In 1992 he received a QEII award for performing arts and between 1993-6 served three elected terms as president of the NZ Society of Magicians. Ken has also won awards within the international magic fraternity and is well known overseas as a prolific inventor of math-based tricks used by magicians.
