Particular attention is paid to the United States policy regarding Africa, the impact of private enterprise, the administration of foreign aid and the involvement of Africa in the Cold War.

This book looks at Hispanic culture, including politics, education, sports, and social problems. It argues that immigration is a positive experience for both the newcomers and the local communities into which they settle and examines the Spanish legacy of the Southwest.
