What would you do if you encountered a person from another universe - a parallel universe? Derek and Margo saved the life of such a man, and he recruited them to join a far greater cause than they could imagine. Tomas was joined by his wife Judith, enabling Derek and Margo to visit their Parallel, where they were given training and equipment for the work they were asked to do. Because Parallel scientists enhanced their physical bodies, they agreed to take a month-long "vacation" to Europe so that their friends and neighbor wouldn't be shocked by the changes they had undergone. Thus, two couples from parallel universes teamed up to turn violence into peace in both worlds. Their Missions use futuristic information and equipment, making it possible to travel through wormholes and space warps to intervene in crises in distant locations while appearing to be on that European vacation. "As it is in one universe, so it will be or has been in others." To change the outcome in one universe will change the history of the other. They must contend with terrorists, governments, aliens, and saboteurs, all of whom want to stop their missions, eliminate them, or commandeer their Ship. Encounters with alien species create both problems that could lead to disaster and opportunities that may increase their Team support.
The Mission Team returned from their European vacation ready to begin reintegrating into their former lives. While attempting to make a repair, Tomas was badly injured in a fall, jeopardizing the Team's viability. He was rushed to Parallel for healing. When it seems as if life will get back to a new "normal," Derek is sent to Mexico by his company. Thanks to Bart, and the Ship, the intercessions continue, with new challenges threatening to jeopardize the Missions, Derek's life, and the lives of those he enlists to assist him. Bryce, Derek's brother-in-law, experiences a crisis with Tilden, a small alien, who is transported to his office in Roswell, New Mexico. They both show up in Omaha and Bryce has another crisis in thinking when his sister, Margo, reveals her and Derek's involvement with a parallel universe and alien cultures. In Mexico, Mr. Smith, Mr. Jones, and a second Mr. Jones provide both comic relief and irritation to Derek's time there. Hector, his chauffeur, becomes his driver for the remainder of his stay, his helper, his assistant investigator, and his friend. The Missions' enemies nearly succeed in killing Hector, the owner of the firm Derek is visiting, and the owner's wife. Numerous attempts are made to derail Derek's purchasing efforts for his company and the Team's Mission efforts. Encounters with aliens, terrorists, drug cartels, and mysterious gang members threaten to jeopardize Derek's efforts on every front. A visit to the pyramids near Oaxaca offers opportunities for attacks on Derek and Hector, making their tour difficult and dangerous. A "fair-trade" purchase on the way back to Mexico City enriches the duo's appreciation for local natives and their work, but especially for the owner of the business aimed at raising the workers and their families from poverty. Derek experiences several challenges from the time he says farewell to Hector. The "three stooges" briefly kidnap him, a war rages at the airport, and Mr. Smith gives him a mysterious package to "open on the plane." Derek receives a mixed blessing on the plane from Mexico City, before arriving on American soil. His reception by airport security is not the most welcoming either. Before settling in at home, Derek and the Team is sent to Australia, Bryce and Tilden visit Parallel, the Team goes on to Dahkla, Egypt to assist with humanitarian aid when the explosives of a terrorist group accidentally set off a chain of explosions. The entire Team and a new recruit are faced with incredible carnage and even more incredible resistance from Egyptian authorities. The message of the Team remains their constant mantra: Violence begets violence. Peace begets peace.
Derek and Margo Ackerman were an ordinary working couple with grown children, looking forward to retirement. On their way home during an evening rain storm, they rescue Tomas Talbert who is from a Parallel universe. Tomas recruits Derek and Margo to join him and his wife Judith in creating a Team whose purpose is to save, not only this world but also his own parallel world. "As on Earth, so in Parallel," becomes the theme of the rescue missions on which they embark. The Parallel from which Tomas and Judith came is scientifically advanced by several hundred years. Derek and Margo are invited to visit the Qualto Parallel, where they are trained for the Missions on which the Qualto Team will send them. With Tomas and Judith, they make use of an advanced cigar-shaped ship and a computer named Bart, making it possible to manage rapid transit utilizing worm holes and space-warp technologies. In addition, the Team is outfitted with inner and outer Suits that provide protection from bullets, bombs, and beatings. In keeping with the Universal Law of Non-Interference, all equipment with which they are supplied is in existence or on the drawing boards of scientists in this world. The message they leave behind becomes their mantra: "Violence begets violence; peace begets peace." Parallel provides the resources and a temporary work crew to change a run-down farm into one of beauty to double as a staging area and hangar for the Ship. Bart, the computer, enables the Team to turn a simple European vacation into a working one as the missions become more dangerous and complex. A few days in London are interrupted by a Mission to Egypt. Their "Chunnel" ride under the English Channel to France is followed by a Mission to Mexico. The Team's touring in France provides "cover" for Missions to Russia, Portugal, China, Germany, and Tanzania-in rapid succession. Mysterious individuals and groups dog their travels, attempting to prevent the Team from completing their Missions.
Parallel in Jeopardy is the third book in the PARALLEL MISSION series. In the first two books, members of an elite team from a parallel universe enter the Earth Parallel to recruit team members on Earth Parallel to change the course of the history of both parallels. "As it is in Earth Parallel, it will be in other parallels." Their rescue missions spanned the globe, beginning with Earth recruits visiting the centuries-advanced parallel where scientists and technicians trained and prepared them for their Missions. Then, a European "vacation" became the staging place as they prepared to spread the message: "Violence begets violence. Peace begets peace. More Team members are recruited, as the Missions require more members. Alien, government, and criminal elements enter the picture early, attempting to identify the Mission Team and capture their Ship and technology. The Parallel scientists will only provide the Team with equipment that has already been invented on Earth or is on the drawing boards but not in use. Thus, it appears their cigar-shaped Ship, their Suits, and other space-age technology are far more advanced than any other being used on Earth. A renovated farm near Omaha is where the Ship and the supplies are stored and prepared for the various Missions. In Parallel in Jeopardy, a work project in Mexico, sends Derek, the Earth-Team leader, to Mexico City on a purchasing assignment. An unidentified organization recruits Derek to help them find and capture the Mission Team and their equipment-especially their Ship. Derek recruits a local driver to show him the city and seek reports about the "aliens and their Ship." Numerous encounters in Mexico and other countries threaten the continuation of the Missions. Even Derek's return to the States is fraught with challenges. Yet, despite the difficulties, enduring friendships are forged. At the same time, Derek's brother-in-law, a disbeliever in all things alien, encounters an alien visitor who steps out of his closet. Tilden is the alien whose presence creates a crisis for Bryce, his family, and the Team. His turmoil increases as he gets to know "Tilden." A crisis in Egypt draws the entire Team to assist with rescue efforts. Unfortunately, the work is complicated by terrorists, military, and police who have sworn to capture or destroy the Team and their Ship. Will their message finally sink in? Violence begets violence! Peace begets peace!
Me and Jesse-Me and Danny describes the adventures and misadventures of two ten-year-old boys living in a small town in western Iowa. The stories are told by two best friends, and are spiced with fantasy, wild imaginations, mysteries which take the boredom out of growing up in a small town. A strange character enters the pictures, turning camping, swimming, fishing, and ordinary exploration into mysteries to be solved. The two precocious pre-teens face a ghost, kidnapping gypsies, escaped convicts, and a suspected spy with a suitcase full of surprises. Daytime battles for supremacy in the "town ditch" and nighttime explorations of a cemetery add excitement to fishing and ghost hunting. The questions often resurface: "Who is Rufus?"" and "Is he friend or foe?"
