The verb "to be", as an element of relation between two expressions, intervenes in the formation of three types of structures: ascriptive, identifying and emphasising. These three structures have different purposes: ascriptive structures assign a property to the subject (Peter is clever), identifying structures identify an entity (Peter is the doctor) and emphasising structures highlight a segment of a base structure (John was the one we saw yesterday). The latter are extremely complex and have only recently been studied. As a consequence, almost no text touches on all their defining aspects, which is why, if one wishes to have a global view of these constructions, it is necessary to combine and play with a large number of materials. In order to try to resolve this situation, in this book we bring together the features that define and characterise them, as well as the points where they can converge with the aforementioned ascriptive and emphasising features.

O verbo "ser", como elemento de relação entre duas expressões, intervém na formação de três tipos de estruturas: ascritivas, identificativas e acentuais. Estas três estruturas têm objectivos diferentes: as estruturas descritivas atribuem uma propriedade ao sujeito (o Pedro é esperto), as estruturas identificativas identificam uma entidade (o Pedro é o médico) e as estruturas acentuais realçam um segmento de uma estrutura de base (o João era aquele que vimos ontem). Estas últimas são extremamente complexas e só recentemente foram estudadas. Consequentemente, quase nenhum texto aborda todos os seus aspectos definidores, razão pela qual, se se quiser ter uma visão global destas construções, é necessário combinar e jogar com um grande número de materiais. Para tentar resolver esta situação, reunimos neste livro os traços que as definem e caracterizam, bem como os pontos em que podem convergir com os traços descritivos e acentuais acima referidos.

Depuis la naissance de la lexicographie, de nombreux répertoires ont été créés : vocabulaires, trésors, lexiques et dictionnaires. Au sein de ces derniers, différents types peuvent être distingués en fonction de leur objectif : dictionnaires monolingues, dictionnaires bilingues, dictionnaires illustrés, dictionnaires de doute, dictionnaires spécialisés, dictionnaires de synonymes, dictionnaires scolaires ou, entre autres, dictionnaires historiques. Dans cet ouvrage, nous examinons ces derniers, en particulier ceux qui sont considérés comme les plus pertinents et les plus significatifs dans ce genre. Nous aborderons la naissance et le développement de répertoires tels que le "Deutsches Wörterbuch" des frères Grimm, le "Oxford English Dictionary" de Murray ou le "Diccionari català-valencià-balear" d'Alcover et Moll, entre autres.

Dalla nascita della lessicografia sono stati creati molti repertori: vocabolari, tesori, lessici e dizionari. All'interno di questi ultimi, si possono distinguere diverse tipologie in base alla loro finalità: dizionari monolingue, dizionari bilingue, dizionari illustrati, dizionari del dubbio, dizionari specializzati, dizionari dei sinonimi, dizionari scolastici o, tra gli altri, dizionari storici. In questo libro passiamo in rassegna questi ultimi, in particolare quelli che sono considerati i più rilevanti e significativi all'interno di questo genere. In questa rassegna ci occuperemo della nascita e dello sviluppo di repertori come il "Deutsches Wörterbuch" dei fratelli Grimm, l'"Oxford English Dictionary" di Murray o il "Diccionari català-valencià-balear" di Alcover e Moll, tra gli altri.

Since the birth of lexicography, many repertoires have been published: vocabularies, treasures, lexicons or dictionaries. Within the latter, different types can be distinguished according to their purpose: monolingual dictionaries, bilingual dictionaries, illustrated dictionaries, doubt dictionaries, specialized dictionaries, synonym dictionaries, school dictionaries or, among others, historical dictionaries. In this book we review the latter, specifically those considered to be the most relevant and significant within this genre. In this review we will deal with the birth and development of repertoires such as the "Deutsches Wörterbuch" by the Grimm brothers, the "Oxford English Dictionary" by Murray or the "Diccionari català-valencià-balear" by Alcover and Moll, among others.

Desde el nacimiento de la lexicografía, muchos han sido los repertorios que han visto la luz: vocabularios, tesoros, léxicos o diccionarios. Dentro de estos últimos, se pueden diferenciar distintos tipos según su objetivo: diccionarios monolingües, bilingües, ilustrados, de dudas, especializados, de sinónimos, escolares o, entre otros, los históricos. En este libro hacemos una revisión de estos últimos, concretamente de aquellos que se consideran como los más relevantes y significativos dentro de este género. En esta revisión abordaremos el nacimiento y el desarrollo de repertorios como el ¿Deutsches Wörterbuch¿ de los hermanos Grimm, el ¿Oxford English Dictionary¿ de Murray o el ¿Diccionari català-valencià-balear¿ de Alcover y Moll, entre otros.
