A celebration of April as National Poetry Month, each poem echoed by a unique monotype print by the author.
In previous years, I had accepted challenges from an editor colleague to write a poem each day during National Poetry Month, or during the summer holidays, or for the twelve days of Christmas. Faced with the prospect of a COVID emergency of unknowable length, I resolved to attempt the feat again, writing at least one poem each day, for as long as lockdown lasted.
In this second annual celebration of National Poetry Month, Wilson (author of 2016's The April Poems) utilises a wide variety of formal poetic forms to explore (and explain) his daily experiences during the thirty days of April.
A collection of thirty poems, utilising formal forms, one written each day during the month of April 2016.
